Hi, I mostly use headphones for listening to records (late night listening). I've been using an Onkyo integrated amp for years (since 1992!) and I have no complaints about its performance, but I would like to try something different. Since I basically use headphones I have no need for another integrated amp, so the phono preamp+headphone amp seems the way to go. I have a Pro-ject Debut CarboN with Ortofon Red 2M, and Grado sr80e headphones. I've been looking at possibilities and the ifi zen phono + zen can seems to be a nice combo. I've seen there even are headphone amps with phono input, like the Rolls Bellari PA550. Any advice for a nice, not too expensive, phono+headphone amp combo? Thank you!

Hahaha, best answer! Yeah, Edwards wins, its clear platter makes it a sweet. But I like some Debut colors too. How does the AT95 compares to the Ortofons (OM10 o 2M Red)?

I don't know in the Uk but in Spain dealers are beginning to make good offers on the RP3, due to the new Planar 3 launch. Maybe it's a good idea to keep on searching, waiting for discounts like this.

Thank you for your answers and help. The Debut III seller has confirmed a totally safe devolution policy if some problem appears, so I think I' ll go for it (the Debut III costs 249€ and the new Essential 2 costs 279€, so it's a bargain)

I was thinking of buying a turntable and, being on a budget, I was considering the Pro-ject Essential 2 (or the Rega Rp1 with Rega Carbon cartridge). But an offer has come across: a Pro-ject Debut III, for less than the Essential.I know the Debut Carbon line has overpassed the Debut III, and that's probably the reason of this price (maybe the store wants to get rid of old stock). Is the Debut III better than the Essential 2? I've read about engine noise issues on some Debut III... Opinions and advise wellcome! Thanks.
