  1. Yeah, I remember that one. It was my first earthquake experience after moving here from Florida. Scared the shit out of me. The apartment I was living in at the time was all tile and our couch was on wheels. Needless to say, we did quite a bit of rolling around.
  2. Someone else on here lives in Arcata? No shit. Yeah, that 6.9 was... exciting?
  3. Lovin' this album, though my favorite would have to be the self-titled. I live in a small county in Northern California, so the Hot Topic here has, quite literally, one record in stock and it's The Beatles. Anyway, they were happy to order it for me. A bit pricey at over $20, but shipping to the store was free, so... awesome? Looks nice in white, especially with the black sleeve:
  4. As much as I love The Broadways, I could never put them ahead of TLA.
  5. Got home from work and this was waiting for me. Super stoked.
  6. Got my "Boat Builders" and "Number One" records today! Thanks, sugareggs. On that note, I'm still looking to score a copy of "Diver." Get at me, y'all.
  7. I bought a copy of this at Amoeba in SF a few years ago. It sounds like shit. The digital version sounds fine. Was every copy as bad as the one I got?
  8. Bump. Updated thread title to reflect my wants! Diver may be on the table, still looking for the other two.
  9. No preference. I'll take whatever I can get my hands on.
  10. Been a long time. I've been looking for A Wilhelm Scream's "Diver" 7 inch for a long while now. Probably a long shot. Anybody got a copy they'd like to sell me? I'd also be interested in buying the "Number One" and "Boat Builders" 7 inches!
  11. Yeah, I saw Off With Their Heads and Dear Landlord play with Swingin' Utters at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Amazing show.
  12. I didn't get a chance to see many shows this year, since I spent a lot of time traveling. One standout show was definitely Swingin' Utters, Off With Their Heads and Dear Landlord at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Amazing.
  13. I just picked up L4D2 as well. I played through the first campaign last night. The melee weapons are pretty great. I remember there were a few people on here who played the first Left 4 Dead with me a lot. If anyone is up for some multiplayer action, hit me up on Live. My gamertag is "now a hero".
  14. I think it'd be safe for you to skip to a 14. That's a pretty small increase.
  15. Damn, man. I didn't even know the scalpel/stitch was an option. Good to know, though. I had a friend that worked at a tattoo shop here that had someone come in with a blown out earlobe at just 1", and that sufficiently scared me away from trying to go too big. I think I'll stay at 7/16" for now, been here consistently for a little over a year. I say that every time, though, and damnit if my ears don't just stretch themselves. It makes it too damn easy.
  16. Work kept me from going last year, but being unemployed (for now, at least) means I have no excuse to miss it. Here's hoping.
  17. Aye. I was backing the "never buy from Hot Topic" sentiment. I don't believe anybody disagreed with bodyartforms. Total miscommunication. Anyway, I agree with you!
  18. Wow, man. Those are fucking ... impressive. As for my brother and his wacky stretching, I know he started at a 14. I think he started stretching within that week while they were still fresh, and kept going up a few sizes a week. His ears were always swollen and dark red. He eventually got up to a 1/2", and put these funky gold tunnels in. He lost one somehow, and decided to just leave it out and took the other one out as well. This happened probably two years ago, and to this day, his earlobes look like jagged 1/4" long slits.
  19. this is the best place ive found so unless youve tried it yourself then dont diss it I have had plenty of plugs purchased from Hot Topic before, and I won't again. I wouldn't blindly insult the place. Of course, I can't speak for every piece of jewelry they sell. I had my lip pierced and, on more than one occasion, purchased studs and hoops with inconsistent sizes, and have had weird reactions to the material. I'm just offering my personal experience here. If your opinion varies from mine, feel free to do the same. I have had much better experience shopping online from places like bodyartforms.
  20. it's always recommended to buy higher quality jewelry. And whatever you do.. don't get anything from HOT TOPIC.. the stories i can tell you from people coming in because they replaced their jewelry with a lower standard (but prettier) belly button ring or barbell for their tongue and wound up having reactions to the metal.. once we had to scalpel a woman's barbell from her tongue, because it swelled an started to adhere to the threads of the ring that were manufactured to long (it externally threaded) due to swelling.. Backed. On top of the shoddy merchandise, it's just damn expensive.
  21. I'm going to have to throw my hat into the patience/gradual stretching ring. I'm at 7/16 right now, but I did it within a couple of years. I started at 14 and went to 10 > 6 > 4 > 0. You can skip a few sizes, as the increase is pretty minimal. I kept 0 for a few months, then dropped to 00. I thought I was done there, but my ears kind of stretched themselves, so I easily dropped a 7/16 in. I recommend going this route for good reason. My youngest brother stretched too fast, to the point of bleeding sometimes, and he eventually got tired of them. He took them out, and now his ears look like shit. If you go the quick route, be prepared for the possibility that your ears will turn to shit. Just my experience.
