  1. you're from albuquerque?!? i live in santa fe, and am moving to burque in a few months! weird. do we know each other? who are you?
  2. a friend(benchwarmer, actually) referred me when there was the first "guess all these records" contest. and yeah, after trying to do that i looked through the inventory and quickly told him "man, this site is gonna make me go broke."
  3. yeah, flickr's not bad. i have a photobucket account too, but that's just for random photo hosting. but flickr's much easier to share and it's much more friendly to use.
  4. i added you as a flickr contact. record nerds unite. or something.
  5. 1.) your ebay name makes me laugh for some reason. 2.) is selling stuff on ebay your job? 3.) also, you're selling a lot of records that i am now watching.
  6. i love weird finds. i've got a soviet pressing of traveling wilbury's vol 1, and the whole cover is redesigned in russian or whatever it is. i've got these weird star wars picture discs that are just sound effects and snippets of story naration, it's weird.
  7. i wish i had gotten the etid boxed set on color, i was just totally broke at the time.
  8. i'm the leading authority on being pissed off at zozobra for not playing in new mexico. for those of you who are uneducated, zozobra is a yearly festival that occurs in santa fe, new mexico. it is centered around the burning of a 70ft effigy of Zozobra (otherwise known as Old Man Gloom, and yes, that's where they got the name for that band as well). santos montoya, drummer for zozobra (and old man gloom), was born and raised in santa fe (he's a great guy, i've hung out and played music with him), and yet when they toured, they didn't come to new mexico AT ALL. they received a very nasty myspace message from me about this.
  9. i dunno where you're from, but everyone i knew when jupiter came out were totally creaming themselves over it.
  10. everyone hates everything cave-in did AFTER jupiter. good luck.
  11. this is 100% absolutely something i will regret not buying. i just CAN'T buy it right now. maybe if i come across some extra money i can consider it. but until then... it will break my heart every time i think of it.
  12. i know the clear blue's are second press, but any idea of the numbers?
  13. ugh, this is absolutely the dumbest thing to ever argue about. sure they might be dowels, but it's entirely possible that this is not the exact shelving unit you've put together, a lot of them look pretty damn similar. look at the ones on the far right, they sure look flat to me.
  14. i'm sorry, but those aren't dowels. you can see it extend under the records. and the little plastic pieces on the side used to hold up the shelves are standard "flat on top, angled brace on bottom" shape.
  15. was this pressed on vinyl? admittedly i'm lazy and haven't even checked... just wondering if anyone knows offhand.
  16. i don't think that's the case, look at the far right piece, it's got the little plastic pieces for resting a horizontal shelf on. what is probably the issue is he didn't put the backing cardboard on the shelf. people don't realize this is an ESSENTIAL piece of putting those things together. it's the support for the whole structure that keeps it from falling over like that.
  17. no, i certainly don't subscribe to any organized religion. but hardcore has always been about having an open mind and allowing people to express what they believe in, whether that's being a vegetarian, having a tight night group of friends, or christianity. it all contains a level of preaching, ya know?
  18. i actually don't really have that many 7"'s. the few i have are on a different shelf, and there's probably a small stack somewhere at my parents house. i've got maybe 25-30, mostly east coast hardcore stuff from the mid-late 90's.
  19. i'm not even entirely sure what it would be classified as, but i guess street punk? just really obnoxious sounding punk rock. all those bands sound really similar to me, and it makes me sound old, but i guess i just don't get it. and most pop punk i'm not a fan of. but there's exceptions to the rule. i don't usually discount entire genre's, it's usually specific bands i'm just not into. but my collection is pretty eclectic.
