Blending the best elements of hardcore, metal and doom to present a brooding experience, Dehiscent features ex-members of some prominent Seattle-area bands. Influences across the spectrum, Dehiscent melds the straightforward thoughtful grooved-out heaviness of Sabbath, Cathedral and the Melvins with the depraved and scowled elements of bands like Eyehategod and the old Pessimiser Records bands like Crom and 16, and Grief. A listening experience that truly leaves its sonic mark among the heavy music community.
As for Sterileprayer, the listening experience is a total change. Having a handful of releases under his belt receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Cvlt Nation, MetalSucks, Decibel Magazine, and more, these five tracks are a array of variety. From harsh noise to soundtrack-esque ambient music, encountering the loud, the nearly-silent, and everything in between. Channeling the influences of old Atrax Morgue to Einstürzende Neubauten to Caterina arbieri to Merzbow, the range is vast and all-encompassing. A truly unique compilation of works contributed to the fold.

Sorry I did mean Merchtable, my bad. I think MT and BCD are the same entity, but Merchtable is their customer-facing fulfillment thing, not 100% sure though.

By a matter of sheer luck, we were able to get a few stray copies from the first vinyl pressing of "The Ghoul in the Mirror" on the colored variants (the ones that sold out during pre-order) back from our overseas distro. These weren't supposed to make it outside of direct mailorder but we were able to retrieve them. We went ahead and put them up in the Blackhouse Ltd. webstore. We have not officially posted anything on the label sites yet because we want to give you all first shot at it. Very limited quantities of each version available and once gone, this is literally it as far as this first pressing goes. I will be posting the news on the BH sites later tonight, so if you missed out on the first go-round and want one of the versions (pictured below), have at it. Cheers.

Punk rock and hardcore in Southern California as genres need no introduction. It boiled over in the mid-90’s, but there was one band that were part of a greater family tree of Orange County punk rock before all the media attention, money and major label noise. With darker overtones than their contemporaries, they represented a more artistic approach than the rest. They put out a groundbreaking final record that was WAY ahead of its time before ultimately disbanding and disappearing into the ether of punk rock legend.
Tender Fury was formed in 1987 by T.S.O.L front-man Jack Grisham and drummer Todd Barnes. After Barnes exiting the band in 1990, The last recordings that became Tender Fury’s final record consisted of a powerhouse lineup of Grisham, Randy Bradbury (Pennywise, One Hit Wonder), Josh Freese (Vandals, Devo, Nine Inch Nails), and Frank Agnew (Adolescents, 45 Grave).
A precursor to Grisham’s transition to starting The Joykiller in 1994, Tender Fury’s swansong release “If Anger Were Soul, I’d Be James Brown” (originally released on Triple X Records in 1991) was cited by Grisham later as being a turning point in his career in terms of serious devotion to making music in the aftermath of substance abuse recovery.
We at Blackhouse are proud to present the fully remastered and reconstructed re-issue of this classic record for the first time ever available on vinyl in North America. Limited to a one-time run of 500 made with 4 different colored variants, all copies of the album come with a full lyric sheet insert and revamped cover art (as the band originally intended).
