  1. Hook this dude up! Robo is one of the greatest labels in the world.
  2. I can't bear to calculate an exact answer to this question, but I know that I still collect CDs at an alarming rate along with records. I have probably 100+ instances where I bought the CD and then scooped up the vinyl when it was pressed after the fact, but I'd say that the majority of my multi-format overlaps come from the fact that I still utilize the CD player in my car and being that I am a very frequent customer at my local record store, I scoop up most used CDs for about a dollar (or less if it's a particularly easy-to-find title), so I tend to fill out most albums that I'm into that way. The latter generally happens when I've shelled out decent money for a limited edition preorder+shipping first and then I stumble upon a used copy down the road. I can't recall ever thinking "Damn! I need to go to FYE and pick up that CD *and* LP of..."
  3. I wanna throw in my two cents for a craigslist suggestion. I scored a practically mint Rotel for $45. It was rad.
  4. ^ bid hard, friend! I doubt that it'll get super expensive. However, if it does, I have another that I *might* be willing to part with, so you can send me some offers if you'd like. I hate to sell these, but people want them and I need funds for more releases!
  5. Glad to see all of this Jesu love. Admittedly, even the standard retail prices from either HH or Caldo Verde break my bank a little...but I'm willing to splurge for Jesu.
  6. This is a mega bump, but I wanted to let everyone know that in order to scrape up some funds, I tossed a test press of Stick Up Kids on good ol' ebay since no one took advantage of my pre-bay offer in the Sales/Trades side. Bid hard friends, as all funds go toward our next, top secret release. http://www.ebay.com/sch/mindovermatterrex/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
  7. Did the OP say - in the same post - that he is passionate about music, but not enough to take a financial risk with the music that he feels so strongly about? That's a bummer.
  8. bump. If no takers, this shnizz is going up on 'bay tomorrow! Get 'em now! No reasonable offer will be refused. SUPPORT INDIE LABELS!
  9. I hate to be the person that derails a thread, but this same thing happened to me with the Refused "Shape Of Punk..." reissue preorder. I was practically living at my computer waiting to preorder - as soon as they went live, I got that shit. BOOM. A friend of mine ordered a little over 24 hours later. He got the blue variant /500 and I got the black. Totally sucked. I ended up being "that guy" who hunted down all of the other variants almost out of pure spite for not getting the blue one the first time around!
  10. I am currently gathering some extra funds for a very exciting upcoming release, so I'm thinning out parts of my Expedit for financial and spacial reasons related to said pending release. I will toss these up on eBay in a few days, but I thought that I'd give you guys first grabs. PM me some offers - I'm looking more for cash at this point, but would entertain trade offers...because I'm a junkie. Converge - You Fail Me (Black) Bear Vs. Shark - Terrorhawk (Trans. Red) The Decemberists - The King Is Dead (180g Black) Smashing Pumpkins - Adore Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie Demos & Chicago Tapes Whirr - Distressor EP MU330 - Crab Rangoon Bad Rabbits - Stick Up Kids (White /100) TESTS: Evergreen Terrace - Burned Alive By Time (alternate artwork, screen printed, autographed by the entire band #/20) Bad Rabbits - Stick Up Kids EP (alternate artwork, screen printed #/15)
  11. What kind of plant charges the same rate for overages? That is a crock of shit. I've gotten records pressed at United, Pirates and Erika...and they've all charged the same amount, per LP, for overages. Granted, those overages can help drag down the actual "cost per record" over the entire pressing because then you get to break down the mastering/plating/etc costs a little bit thinner. This analysis, however, makes both sides of *this* argument mostly moot. I would also like to add (because I've said this in MANY other threads as well) that if people would just STOP shelling out $25 for a single LP, then people would stop charging that much because their inventory wouldn't fly off the shelves. There are plenty of indie labels that charge beyond reasonable prices for an amazing product. Support them instead, and you could buy nearly double as many records. IMAGINE YOUR DEADFORMAT TRADELIST THEN!
  12. I, for one, love all HIL records and think that It Hates You (albeit a departure frok their earlier work) is a fucking perfect record. It's heavy without being "chugga chugga," it's catchy, it has some atmosphere, the list goes on and on. For my tastes, this album managed to hit all of the bases. I actually was in talks with Tragic Hero about licensing this before this other label swooped in and started talking about doing it. I wonder frequently if I should attempt to pursue it again.
  13. I'm sure FYE was the just "highest bidder" and that's how they scored exclusivity
  14. Are they the numbered version?! If so, will you pick one up for me? I'll toss you a couple extra bucks for the work!
  15. I'm certainly not stereotyping - I'm referencing the 1000's of posts here on VC where people claim that their local HTs only employ "kids" who "don't know what vinyl is and thinks that they're calendars." Trust me: I <3 HT
  16. In-store employees are supposed to redeem physical coupons that were handed out during a certain period over the last two weeks. However, I bet if you were super nice to them and didn't make fun of the fact they will more than likely call their LPs "vinyl" they would probably still hook you up if you mention that you could just as easily use the promo codes and buy stuff online.
  17. To my knowledge, more than one label has tried, and even the band has suggested the idea to the label...but the label is insisting that they will do it themselves. They make this promise with a lot of releases that will more than likely never see the light of day (sadly).
  18. I'll totally help you out if you wanna do some screen printed covers for Short Collection.
  19. Hopefully I can score another color through IVWT at some point, but I'm stoked to own a grey copy that I just snagged up! Holler!
  20. ^^ I can help you out with the NFG record. My HT has several. Shoot me a PM!
  21. Thanks for keeping us updated on this band, Juan. They are simply incredible.
