  1. Maybe I'm over practical, but I find that I still buy CDs rather often. If it's not available on vinyl, I'd rather have a physical copy on hand for when my hard drive inevitably dies. I've lost a handful of computers over my years (and yes, the externals that backed them up as well), but I can always pop a CD into the new computer, re-sync my iPod/iPhone, and I'm good to go!
  2. Huge H2O fan AND I love the bands on these covers releases. This is like a pretty serious music boner for me.
  3. Here's hoping that this doesn't go up for sale while I'm at work like the White Silence LPs did. That became a fiasco trying to hunt one of those down!
  4. I couldn't be happier with any aspect of this release. Such an amazing record, and thank you Sound Study, for giving it a great vinyl treatment at an awesome price. I will always back Sound Study releases.
  5. ...who? This makes me sad for you. Honestly. Not being a dick. The info about this record has been on the front page of this messageboard for the last couple of months...you should do yourself a favor and seek out some of these great, lesser-known artists.
  6. Mightier Than Sword may be a lot of things, but an evil corporation ain't one of them. I'm not saying that MTS is an evil corporation, but earlier in this thread, someone was bitching about a $19.99 single LP because "it was just absurd" that UO would charge "so much money" - there are indie labels with questionable practices that charge so much more. I am just struggling to understand how members of this board can say it's okay to STEAL from a company just because it charges $19.99 (when this company - in fact - pays for it's employees to have health care coverage, maternity leave, unemployment benefits, etc.) when it's more than likely that the same people don't hesitate for a single second to drop much more money on a record that in all reality contributes absolutely nothing back into the world. This is also by no means an attempt to slur at MTS - the Blink records were just the first that popped into my brain while I was sitting here having my mind blown by the dumb shit that people were saying.
  7. Can't believe that there isn't a single reply to this. Will buy as soon as payday comes around. Thanks for finally making this happen!!! Also, you should have a bundle deal for people (like me) who would buy both colors in a heartbeat!
  8. Maybe everyone who is unhappy about high prices because of the "evil corporations" could just go and buy some quality records directly from an indie label or two - perhaps we could all do a part in helping good things survive and support ideals that we can stand behind rather than perpetuating the problem and bitching about it. For crying out loud, these Blink represses sell out repeatedly with a price tag that makes my soul hurt, while the new City Of Ships still hasn't sold out...and it's a 210g LP for $12!
  9. People: there are streaming songs past the link. Do yourself a favor and check out these great bands. Your ears deserve it.
  10. Thread starts when someone is fired up over misreading something. Everyone takes turns reiterating how the original poster fucked up. Someone chimes in about how Hot Topic sucks (because, obviously, every thread is directly related to HT - duh!) A couple people pick on the noobs, because they came out of the womb with 3 expedits packed the top with sweet über-limited records and an incredible knowledge of variants and specific release dates. Next logical step? Someone has to take a swing at Enjoy The Ride. Any takers?
  11. Gentlemen, your orders shipped today. Tracking info should be in your emails. I've had a good handful of takers...who is next? eskimoswim, have you listened to that Deadhorse LP yet? It is something you'll love...I swear it.
  12. Wow. That's passion right there. You should take all of that out onto your lawn and photograph it so that we can see it side by side with the Converge variants.
  13. Considering how much Botch is buried in obscurity these days, it seems equally unlikely that there is an amazon employee who knows that posting that link would give a few hundred people a virtual boner or that HH is kind enough to throw those same few hundred people a gem like this back into the market. If that run-on sentence is difficult to read, it's because I am focusing much more heavily on Holtergeist's sig with the dancing Spiderman...and it's really distracting me!
  14. I plan on running sales on my individual releases periodically as well - right now I have Evergreen Terrace's "Burned Alive By Time" on SUPER sale - there's only a handful of those left, and I'd like to clear off space in my Expedit for a future release. I may very well run a LAS sale soon. However, if you scoop up a copy sooner rather than later, I have copies of LAS' "demo" CD that I'm throwing in for free with each order and those are OOP. ...and thank you for the kind words. :-)
  15. I always love when people suggest new music to me, and so I figured that I would take a leap of faith and assume that there are more than people who are looking to score Blink 182 variants on this messageboard who might appreciate something of this nature. On my label's website, I have opted to start running pretty frequent sales on titles as well as pairing certain records together that might appeal to a certain fan base at a discounted price. Each record retails at $12.99 and I'm selling them packaged together for a meager $19.99!!! That's a 25% savings, yo! The object here is for a music community (you remember those, right?!), so my goal is to hopefully show you new music that totally rules. It'll be slow going, for sure, but let me know your thoughts. First up are a couple of INCREDIBLE post-rock records. As similar as they are polar opposite, I could imagine that these two records would look nice in the collection of anyone who enjoys Isis, Caspian, Red Sparowes, Balmorhea, or Irepress. To make it even a bit easier, I've created some rudimentary flash players that sample one of my favorite tracks off of each album on the page as well. Please go listen and enjoy! http://www.mindovermatterrecords.com/LASDH_Sale.html
  16. It hurts my soul to watch stuff like this go down so often. Lord knows that stuff happens to delay vinyl manufacturing, but take a break from the internet beatdowns and just catch up with yourself before starting ANOTHER preorder! And yes. I can't fathom paying more than $20 for a single LP...and even then I've gotta really love the record to scrape up that much.
  17. This thread went from zero to zero with exceptional speed and precision!
  18. I doubt Travis will mind. It's not like it's a code for "buy one record get 12 free" or anything. At least you're still supporting his business!
  19. Definitely not faulting Mike or any distributors, but this heat wave in the Midwest did some serious damage to eskimoswim's LP! You know when people make old LPs into bowls and ashtrays and shit like that? Well...it looked like someone was about 75% of the way to having a nice cereal snack in his record. I hope the sun can fix what it originally caused!
  20. Can't decide if I'm mad or sad with myself for reading every post in this thread. Perhaps a little bit of both.
  21. My job cost me this one. Fuck. I had a great Emery variant collection going too.
  22. I love every era of MTB, but HRP is definitely a favorite. Sucks that they're playing Detroit though. Hopefully they don't get their van/gear stolen like every other band not smart enough to play a different Michigan market.
  23. I enjoy how many people responded with "I don't collect variants...except for *this* band/release"! I think we all have been guilty of this at least once...or at least thought about it heavily when presented with another prettier/newer/rarer variant. I know I'm guilty.
