There's a rumor that Canon and Sony struck a deal for them to get Sony's sensors as well. Here's a quote pulled directly from the site you linked, under "Verdict / Scores" (I've marked notable parts in red) Compelling stuff, but personally I'd still go d800. Glass won't help you where the Canon suffers v Nikon. I'd def go Canon though, if I were into video at all, they blow nikon out of the water on that front

The flip side of this is that Nikon's sensors are far superior to Canon's and function much better in low light. Both have their pros and cons. I'd rather have Nikon's beastly sensor than have one expensive ass piece of glass thats limited to 50mm and isn't that sharp at f1.2 - you can get the same quality by bumping up the ISO on a Nikon and using a cheaper piece of glass or stopping it down for more sharpness

Why don't you shoot in RAW so you don't have to worry about WB and just adjust in post? I never set a WB, I guess cause I'd always forget to change it

Thanks for the advice! All these were natural lighting. The second one was under a bridge she was crouching on, so the light was peering through and hitting her right in the face, hah. As for the third, she was just brushing her hair away from her neck, it was a pretty candid moment. Here's a similar one, same lighting. Straight off the camera, no edits.. Like it better? The last one I'm pretty bummed about because I was shooting at f/1.4 which made everything super soft (we were underground and set off a smoke bomb that threw the autofocus off as well), but the background is something I want to play around with in other shoots

I did a few portraits over the weekend (free of charge) to practice since I rarely do them. Wanted to get your opinions. I missed the focus on the last one, but I loved the blue/purple smoke in the background so I had to put it in there. What could I have done better, and which do you like?

Mirrored indeed. Nice catch! I didn't like the way the left side was, so I reflected the right Thanks! I throw out so many images cause they don't fit the square crop. I guess I think Instagram is the way to get people to check out my stuff, so I cater to that.
