Hey everybody!  I'm so glad you're as excited as we are to finally release this record.

Just a heads up, I see some of you are concerned about us not doing a letterpress for the limited pressing since we're going through Pure Noise.

We will be doing something special again for the most limited release of the vinyl, so don't you worry.  It may not be letterpress but it will be just as awesome!

Thanks for the interest everyone, more info soon!

price seems out of whack for those speakers.   watch prices on Newegg or set an alert on slickdeals.  You should be able to save at least ~$100 on the pair.

I should add that used to use the older version of those speaker (monitor 70s) and I do not really recommend them for music.  Your $400-$500 is better spent elsewhere.

Thanks for all of the help, everyone!

After further investigation and playing around with the setup (and how things are arranged in my circuit breaker), I figured out that it was (wireless) home phone that was plugged in next to the pre-amp. I couldn't have done it without you guys, so thanks again!!!

Also, the owner of the dog was quoted saying their dog "Disliked Children and Bicycles". That person should be arrested for knowing they have an aggressive animal and failing to secure it properly. Let's place blame where it is due.

The Mother was watering plants in the front. Her Kid was in his front yard with her. My little guy loves gardening with me. I sit out tending to plants and he picks dandelions and plays with his cats.  I also pull the car out of our driveway and use it to block the end, he can pull out his tricycle and ride it if he wants. Is someone here going to tell me I'm a bad fucking parent for allowing my son 15 feet of distance to explore?

    FUCK THAT!

No parent can protect their child 100% and no parent should at all have to worry that if they are in the yard within eyeshot of their child that either a vicious dog or predatory human should harm them. The judgements being passed here are absolutely insane. Wrap your children in bubble wrap, lock them indoors and turn on the TV gang.

Seriously, I'm disgusted with some of the comments. I have sympathy for a mother who's safe space was completely violated and now has to stand judgement. By the way, she chased the dog off with the cat and was bit herself in doing so.

Was the phono input the issue? Just think it'd be good to say what your mistake was so that other people in your situation can see this thread and say oh they had the same issue, and here's what I can do to fix it.

I would re-read that beginner thread again as the answers are all in there and have been answered quite a few times in threads with similar questions to yours but of course that's easy for me to say as I have a fair understanding of it all.

Hopefully the below will help a bit.

The AT 120 is a big step up from the Sony LX300USB and all the other similar ones with different badges but an Orbit or a Debut Carbon are another stup up again from that.

It depends what you expect from your turntable and whether you are the sort of person who likes to upgrade and change.

If you are going to use a surround sound receiver and Bose speakers or a soundbar or other multi channel audio visual amps and speakers then get the AT 120 as spending the extra on the Project or the Orbit won't reward you.

the AT-120 is a copy of a DJ turntable so has some features that are only useful to a DJ like variable speed but does have some hifi type features as well and does do a perfectly good job if not a top of the tree one. The on board phono stage is not very good but again this depends on what you have heard before quality wise and what you are using as an amplifier and speakers, it does have a couple of useful features that the Orbit and the Projects don't like a removable head shell and adjustable VTA (changing the arm height) which can be very useful when changing to a different cartridge.

The AT-120 can be made to sound very nice as the basics are there but it does need a bit of technical and electronic skill to get it there.

If you are going to get a proper 2 speaker hifi amplifier, speakers and phono stage then the Orbit and the Project will reward you more as that is the sort of system that these turntables are designed to run into.

Don't get me wrong you can get a multi channel AV amplifier/receiver to sound quite nice and if that suits your needs that's all good but it will always be a compromise.

If you want the best out of your records then it is a lot easier and quite often cheaper with a proper 2 channel hifi system but if you want the system to do surround sound then you have to accept that compromise, that or use an add on amplifier that adds the other channels, the problem with these is that they don't do the really up to day processing available.

Are you using a tracking force scale? You should get one if not. Guessing where your tracking force should be may have fixed your sound quality problems, but if it isn't set to the right weight you will damage your records and stylus for the long run.
