With my belated xmas present from my sis, I used some of the VC $50 gift certificate to pick up: Iron & Wine - Creek Drank the Cradle (replaced a warped one) Iron & Wine - Shepherd's Dog and to continue my folky purchase I picked up the Gregory Alan Isakov - This Empty Northern Hemisphere After listening to the album about ten times today (thanks to the mp3 stream off suburbanhomerecords.com) I'm fucking stoked for its arrival! Also I just bought a replacement copy of MTB's Menos el Oso off aaronMONTEdanger -- I'm definitely looking forward to hearing that beauty without any damn skips! thanks man!

Even if the new record is $30, I'm definitely buying two because I want to listen and enjoy one while watching the other lie still on the wall in a frame next to Daisy. I'm pumped! And I can't wait to see what crazy prices eBay will have

I just finished watching a decent movie called How to Lose Friends and Alienate People with Simon Pegg and it's been the fifth movie/tv show in the last two days I've come across with a focus on records. In a couple scenes he puts on a record in his appartment, but the most important one is when he buys Kirsten Dunst a La Dolce Vita record and she says, "but I don't own a turntable" Have you all noticed in movies/tv shows, old and new, a specific scene focusing on records? Let me know! I just used google maps and it says i'm two hours away (i live by winchester, va) and I definitely plan on making a trip sometime soon for some good vinyl! If only winchester's "Ear Food" could update their damn records and blow the dust off the current haha -- either way I'm glad somewhere in VA there's a good record store (besides the very few hot topic carries). Actually, now that I think of it, I'll probably have to open a dispute (and reluctantly get back my money) over a damn Iron & Wine album I won for $5 (Our Endless Numbered Days). I won it 11/30, paid that day, and I have emailed the bitch twice with no response. She's a noobie (+18 feedback) but she had other items for sale as well. Unless she has an absolute reasonable response (death), I'm pissed. Sorry about your 45s man -- hopefully they'll make their way back to eBay by a different seller.
