So I got my Box Car vinyl today. For the most part, it's a good vinyl pressing but I get the feeling it was just mastered from the CD. overall, it sounds kinda flat without the aggression of the CD. mine was slightly warped. was anybody else's copy warped?

bummed that the only LA show he's playing is Coachella because i ain't going to that. i'd fly up to SF or Berkeley but i don't have the funds right now. the 3 song CD sampler and Boy Lilikoi pretty damn good though. looking forward to the album.

the artist is Anthony Ausgang. he probably did the hook up with MGMT because Sonic Boom (aka Pete Kember from Spacemen 3/Spectrum) produced the album. he's done a few covers for Experimental Audio Research (Sonic Boom's drone/ambient side project). Ausgang's artwork is really good. check out http://www.ausgangart.com/ i'd buy this if i was into MGMT but i can't stand them.

no reissue of Somewhere Between... only the self-titled album. Live at the Roxy wasn't on color but, if i remember correctly, came with a free poster.

sweet Idlewild collection. the only thing i'm missing is Before the Ruin. but i'm not too keen on getting it on vinyl because i wasn't too into the album itself. don't know if you were aware (or even interested) but there's a US pressing of The Remote Part. non-gatefold sleeve. put out by Capitol Records. there's also a jukebox 7" single for Little Discourage with Idea Track as the b-side.
