  1. Definitely a case by case thing. It depends on how the copies of the master tape is made and shipped to the record plant. The experience of the engineer for transferring the tape to a stamper. Also if you press a large quantity of records, you might need multiple sets of stampers, generally the first copies sound better than the last copies pressed with a stamper. (Hence, this why some promo's sound better, but you really have a good hearing and have a great set up.) So to conclude the sound quality varies, but I hardly ever notice a difference unless it is a crummy bootleg but obviously the source is different.
  2. I love to see a full H2O collection, does anyone have it?
  3. I am Dutch but compared to other releases their prices are around 6 or 7 bucks more here, still the quality price ratio makes me buy them, since they all sound so great.
  4. Not so excited about this, but I will pick up the DC single, two of my favorite bands of all times are covered plus that Marginal Man cover they did was done excellently, so I confident they will do good with other DC bands also.
  5. Bummed out, wished this was a topic about Articles Of Faith.
  6. Weak collection, don't see 40 variations of the Drop Dead/Converge split.
  7. Similar stuff happens in the Netherlands with RSD. There are a few independent chain records stores that got way more exclusive records than the single independent record stores despite ordering similar amount of records. Also a lot of shade stuff happened with the Nirvana 12", the amount delivered to the Netherlands was super low, even lower than expected. But still the main organizers of RSD made sure they got their copies, leaving 11 copies for the general public that all ended up in the earlier mentioned independent chain stores. I don't have solid proof for that but several independent stores told me the same story.
  8. I hope not, this last RSD costed me a million bucks already.
  9. I love the boxset, but they should have included s/t "Original" 12", Back To The Known 12", All Ages LP and Tested LP.
  10. Last year there wasn't hardly any limited vinyl or it sold out in minutes (Kid Dynamite and TIU) Would love to get my hands on that Cold World record and that Mouthpiece record.

  12. Buy a decent record player and play it. That pressing isn't superb, but having a good record player can do the trick.
  13. Music on Vinyl (NL not UK) sounds great, the recent bootleg on black doesn't come close.
  14. Very respectable indeed. I think there are at least six versions of that Rebuilding comp. Also I think the yellow label Forever comp came in a brighter yellow and a lighter/tan yellow sleeve. Never noticed the different labels on that TP/NE split, I want to go home right now and check my copies.
  15. Any chance there will be Iron Chic - demo repress. I missed out badly, it was sold out before I even knew it was released.
  16. That Faith LP looks good too. But I have the demo on vinyl already.
  17. How long will it take until someone figured out the track listing?
  18. Nice scores! Love that Turning Point record, hope you didn't pay top dollar for it since gold is out of 200 and not 100.
  19. I am going to stick with the idea, that there are two variations due to the two different pressing runs. But I did notice that my two darker copies of the Quicksand differ a bit since one is solid and the other is semi-translucent despite both being dark blue but that is probably due to mixing the colors.
  20. It is 11th pressing, but please be aware I am estimating there can be up to 7 different pressings for the LP with $7.00 mark. But just like this blog tells you: "I imagine there must be a million other variations of either the $5 or the $7 green cover but I think I will throw a towel on this one. Trying to collect ALL the green cover variation would be borderline pathological."
  21. Listing price, manufacturing countries are different, slightly changed layouts those kind of differences. I think it is on the border of sane/insane, but I think Minor Threat is the only band that is worth it. More info here: http://outofstepsince81.wordpress.com and http://crucialxtimes.com/xdx/?p=13932 I did decided to stop for a few months and focus on other matters outside vinyl collecting for a bit.
  22. Why do you have 6 copies of the s/t 12" with the red cover? Was there something different about them all? I understand collecting variants, I do it all the time, but I don't get the multiple copies of the exact same thing which seems to be a lot going on of in your photo. Their are at least six different pressings of the s/t 12" with the red cover, hence my six copies. Only the UK/Germany versions of s/t and OOS are doubles since I upgraded them to better quality ones and I want to trade away the others for other stuff I am still looking for.
  23. I decided it was time to take a new Minor Threat picture. I chose only to show vinyl. But I had to stick to official vinyl only, not bootlegs are pictured due to space issues.
