  1. All true, BUT if you want to keep the four of them, that is the "easiest" way to do that. Otherwise, if you think you can find the four copies you need in playable condition for what you gave this joker, then send 'em ALL back.
  2. Hey RedSonja, Ok, if you want members opinions, here is mine. If you want the four "playable" records, just keep the lot. Cut your losses, and just NEVER bid on anything else from this guy. Also be leery of dealers that say "everything" is "near mint," or in this case, everything is EXACTLY the same "EX" grade. There are always variance in the condition of records, unless these have the same original owner, and they only played them once or twice to record onto tape. I only ran into ONE collection that was treated this way, and I bought just about everything that I wanted from it, and even upgraded a few records. Trade away the junk records for other junk records, frame them on the wall or "chuck em," unless you want to save a box to sell for £1 each at a flea market, or a record fair you may go in with someone for a table. I have re-bought records I loved because there was a significant "condition" upgrade, and the price was right. I have sold the records I have replaced for next to nothing, but a few for 3 times what I paid. I am very conservative with my grading. Most records have "something" wrong with them. What counts is you are listening to records, and enjoying them, and now it sounds like you have some "stories" to go along with them. Enjoy the ones that work, and if you are looking for "originals," make some weekend trips to some "record fairs." Because of my own disappointments, I rarely buy used originals through the mail anymore, unless I "know the seller," it is uber cheap, or I buy from Diverse Vinyl. They grade more "conservatively" than I do, and you can tell that from just looking at their "nearly new" list. Nothing is "Near Mint," and there are only a few records on their lists that are even EX. (The "EX" Pixies and Smiths albums I bought from them were "Mint" to my eyes. ) Considering all the other transactions that went well, you seem to do better on e-Bay than I do.
  3. Just got shipping notice this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  4. I did not even get that. I ordered this last Sunday in hopes of scoring one of the Autographed copies. I just received the "order confirmation" from Burning Shed, and the "Worldpay card transaction confirmation" showing Burning Shed received payment. Please post to let us know if you received a signed copy
  5. So want that 311, but I am so broke right now. You would not be interested in a sealed "Transistor" for it, would you? The only Chemical Brothers I have is their first one. Never listened to it.
  6. Hey RedSonja, Get the VPI unit. When I first got into this vinyl collecting thing wayyyyy back in the 90s, I once read an article that said, a "vaccum cleaning machine" is the only thing that is going to preserve your collection, and make them sound correct. They compared it to wearing glasses, but never cleaning them. The article advised readers to sell off a portion of your collection so you can buy one of these VPI/Nitty Gritties, in order to preserve the vinyl you have left. Playing used vinyl without a good vaccum clean is like playing your record with sandpaper. You wear out both the stylus and the record prematurely. I am using the same Grado Signature stylus that I bought in the 90s. I want to upgrade to another cartridge just because I heard what a "magnetic coil" cartridge sounds like, not because my needle is worn out. And don't sell your records at record shops. They are there to make money off of you. For example "Bat Out of Hell TWO" is a RARE record. One pressing in the 90s, but a shoddy one as they squeezed 70+ minutes on one LP, but it is so far the only legit version out there, and it was pressed in limited quantities. Collectors will pay a premium for it as a "place holder." It should have always been a 2LP. "Bat out of Hell Three" is rare too, but number one is a dollar record. Keep your records clean, keep your stylus clean. Good luck and happy listening to "real sound."
  7. I would love for Gmoney to make a jacket for my Teseschi Trucks Band "Made Up Mind" test pressing that I won in a contest from Sound Garden, once he is accepting "one offs" again.
  8. That "Pumpkin Splatter" does look pretty sweet. I would love to buy one, but NOT for $50 or something. Might stop into Barnes and Noble on the way home and see how much the "Glow in the Dark" is.
  9. Just got done seeing Ride at the 9:30 club. No vinyl what so ever.
  10. I will probably get this, if it isn't $35 or something.
  11. I heard the quality BLOWS AWAY the original. But one of the songs on the original album is a "different mix."
  12. Yup, that is what Phil? told me about these. My blue copy has no sticker mentioning what version it is. It looks like I just won the draw.
  13. Thank you for this tip. Just called them and got a copy on Baby Blue for $27.99 shipped The only catch is, no sticker on the outside to let you know what color it is. Music Millennium was kind enough to crack open a copy to check it. Worth calling if you are still looking for one.
  14. I was actually looking for this at 11am (EDST) this morning, only to drop while I was at the movies. Crap!
  15. Even if you don't need it, sell it for twice what you paid then when it arrives.
  16. SIGNED VERSION of Sexwitch on Vinyl up on Recordstore.co.uk Bought AGAIN! https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/recordstore/SEXWITCH-Signed/4U360000000?utm_campaign=sexwitch&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter
  17. I LOVED that single she did with Toy for Speedy Wunderground, "The Bride." Ordered from Norman Records with the quickness
  18. I would love to buy it. It does not look like a first pressing, but any early "reissue" pressed up in England is going to be "all analog," and will expectedly sound "divine." Provided, you can tolerate all the vocals in one ear, and all the music in the other. The Mono is arguably the best way to experience this album. Time to whip out the "Mono Box." The only "wonky" thing about it is the "Capitol" logo in the lower left hand corner on the back. Early and authentic 60s pressings from the UK would never have that. I suspect this may be a late 70s or early 80s re-issue, and maybe even a US pressing, given the Capitol logo is on it. Crack the seal and enjoy it, and use the balance knob on your receiver for Beatles "Karaoke" night.
  19. Just a shot in the dark here, but I would love to find the "clear vinyl" version of this album. Would happily trade my Hot Topic "grey smoke" version for it. Have not opened it yet, but if anyone has an extra clear, please PM.
  20. Now if anyone could direct me to a copy of The Subways "Young For Eternity" on double 10inch vinyl, for a decent price, I would be "eternally grateful."
  21. I actually dug this I love it when the kids study up on the 80s records I loved to listen to back in the day. So tempted to grab the other one
