  1. I bought the original in 2006 from the band directly for $25 + 4.32 shipping (via zambooie.com). I can honestly say it's one of the quietest pressings I have from this century. I've also documented on the FB group how it doesn't suffer from clipping like the CD versions do, thus it's is the preferred format for audiophiles. It's definitely a great album, and I've considered myself very lucky to have it on vinyl considering how in-demand it is. I, too, wanted to get the repress for comparison, though I certainly don't expect it to be as good with the quality standards I've seen from the plants lately. I'm pretty sure they had to create new stampers for this one, which is just something else that can go wrong. They recently teased fans by showing the original 4-CD source on twitter. So hopefully this would indicate that it will not have clipping issues either. Regardless, $75 is too steep for a 2nd copy in my opinion. However, this album is special compared to the rest of their catalog, so I wouldn't frown upon any fan who spends this for their first copy. I just hope it doesn't arrive with whatever those hairline swirly scratches are that I continue to experience with some new presses.
  2. I reached out to Amazon this morning via e-mail asking if they had any more details, specifically any color information or photos. I received the following reply: I wasn't able to find product discretion about Stranger Things Vol.1&2 (4Lp Box) / O.S.T. , on the Amazon.com website. However, I see that it is a suspense issue on part of manufacturer. I request you to contact manufacturer on your part. I'm not sure if the last sentence is a reflection of the page being gone now (didn't get to check immediately after receiving this response) or something else. I think I'm just about to give up on all of these first-round variants. I'd love to get the glow-in-the-dark bundle, but for $70 it needs to be a dead-quiet pressing, and right now I'm not very confident of that.
  3. Yes, my straight black copy was very noisy, so I sent it back to Amazon. I chose black per recommendation from one of the actual pressing-plant employees. Check the bottom of this discogs master release for a list of comments for all variants. It seems there are noisy copies in many of the variants, though I'm not seeing many complaints for Invada releases.
  4. Isn't it possible this is the announced 4LP glow-in-the-dark version? I found it on Amazon by accident last week and preordered. http://thefirenote.com/2016/11/02/stranger-things-vol-1-vol-2-glow-in-the-dark/
