Glad to see New Orleans records stores are still kicking. After the hurricane one of my favorite shops closed and moved to Austin. The owner said he was fine (located in the French Quarter) but all his customers lost their collections so they just quit collecting. I heard similar stories about other stores too. So good. Used to be my favorite place to go record shopping when I lived in Alabama. Actually it was just my favorite place period when I lived in Alabama. Not much going on there.

I've known a lot of transgendered people in my life. While I don't think the things they chose to do fit in with "normal" peoples' ideas of gender, sanity, etc. I honestly have never met a trans person who was any more or less sane than anyone else. Imagine feeling strongly, almost obsessively, that you were meant to be something you aren't. That has to be a horrible feeling and I'm on the side of anyone who has the courage to face the torment and physical pain of gender reassignment surgery or just living as the opposite sex. Good for them.

We had a great party at the local skate park. We had about 200 kids, lots of stuff to give away, had the barbecue rocking, a DJ -- the works.

I woke up one morning and my feet were cold. I pulled back the covers and my dog had puked all over my feet. She was still laying right there like nothing had happened.

Kids in Boulder used to riot for wins, losses ... whatever. Just for shits. In fact one happened when I was seeing converge, didn't get to hang with my friends before they left town, got tear gassed, finally got into another music venue only because I had a press pass. Then spent like two hours listening to a terrible jam band while a riot raged on the street where my car was parked. Fortunately my car was fucked up enough that I guess they just figured it was already bad enough. A few new dents, nothing more. But the tear gas, holy shit that stuff is awful.

The second Casting Out record is really good. Since they broke up right after it came out almost nobody heard it, but it's good. Much more BSF-ish, less poppy. But good.

The only thing there I don't have is Weak. That record by the way was the very first CD I ever bought. I got a CD player maybe a year after they came out and I was so excited to go buy a CD, and that was the one. In the old long box too. Good times.

The Unforgettable Fire is amazing. It's one of my all-time favorite albums. It's also the only U2 record I like at all. I don't know how the band that made that amazing, groundbreaking piece of art also made some of the shit garbage they have pushed out over the years. It like if Fugazi put out their first record, then became Sugar Ray.

The HM EP is the best thing they ever did. I was so pumped when that came out, then the record dropped and I was underwhelmed. Still, better than most stuff.

They have a number of options. Mostly it tastes like wine. I don't drink very much because most alcohol gives me horrible headaches. Mead is no exception. But the sweeter versions do taste pretty good. Way better than most desert wines.
