  1. It's from Music On Vinyl. They're out of the Netherlands, yes. December 15 was the original release date -- nothing's been pushed back. Full details here: http://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/original-soundtrack/transformers MOV stuff is always high-quality, but due to international shipping, licensing fees, and the heaviness of the vinyl, you're going to pay $32 per, minimum. It's worth the money, though. I've probably a dozen soundtrack releases from them, and they've always turned out wonderfully. Oh, and a small side bonus from ordering their stuff is that the release dates aren't ever pushed back. They have their own pressing plant.
  2. Bump. Seriously, make offers. I have a web hosting bill due in a week, too, and I am fucking drowning.

  4. I had a copy of Siren Song that I found for $8, sold for $30, and thought it was a great sale. Nowadays ... I tear up a little.
  5. The Sultans' (John Reis / RFTC side project) "Walk of Shame" 7-inch for 25 cents at a record sale a couple months back was pretty great, although just being given a stack of Minutemen LPs in exchange for cleaning and selling a friend's record collection was pretty great.
  6. I've got Spokesman, if you're still looking. DM me, if so.
  7. The local shop knows of my love for pop-punk and the like, so rather than go through the trouble of pricing out something like 35 7-inches and a couple LPs and 10-inches, he sells me the whole thing for $50. In it: The Lookouts' One Planet, One People. Tsunami Bomb / Plinky B-Movie Queens split Detroit Cobras' first single Descendents' Fat EP on mini-CD And the entire Automatics discography, a bunch of Teen Idols stuff ... I sold the Tsunami Bomb, Detroit Cobras, and Descendents, and made $150 in profit, PLUS kept everything else.
  8. They actually did a pretty great thing and e-mailed people on Monday to let them know when the pre-order would go live. In order "to give our friends or people who actually like our band first dibs," they didn't announce it on social media until 20 minutes after the link went live at 2pm Easten.
  9. Promoting my own stuff here, but has anyone else heard about Drafthouse reissuing the original Death "Keep On Knocking" b/w "Politicians In My Eyes" single on Tryangle? The band said it happened, but I can't find details ANYWHERE. http://www.nuthousepunks.com/blog/2013/06/28/new-music-on-the-way-from-proto-punks-death/
  10. Recorded LIVE at the Prince Charles Theater in Leicester Square, Jen and Kevin take their marital misadventures to London for a no-holds-barred recounting of what happened the night one of them overdosed... on weed! $20 unsigned, $40 signed by Kevin and Jen. http://jayandsilentbob.com/vinyl/
  11. I really despise their name, but I listened to this and it's solid. Nearly stellar in terms of what it brings to the table.
  12. Bought the standard set of 7-inches. Figured my wife was already going to be upset about $60 for three singles, without spending an additional 10 pounds.
  13. There are picture disc copies still up at Invada - http://invadarecords.bigcartel.com/product/drive-ost-2-x-lp-picture-disc-vinyl-exclusive-pre-sale
  14. From this Discogs post (http://www.discogs.com/groups/topic/226494): "I work in a pressing plant i haven't been there long, a few months... but, As far as i am aware "Black" vinyl is the best all round hands down! it is made up of small black pellets similar looking to blue slug pellets, but black obviously. It has been designed especially for the use of making records, it contains special oils etc which lubricate the stylus within the groove as its played, my advisor told me it has had 100's of thousands of pounds put into formulating the special blend of chemicals and plastics to form the perfect record, it plays & provids the very best in audio qualtiy and durability of the coloured or black records. it can be recycled and usually there is about a 2% of old recycled records in a new record. "Colored vinyl", is made up of pellets of clear vinyl, similar to the black vinyl and the color is just added in the form of whatever color pellets and the clear pellets..., there is a formular but it is mostly clear pellets rather than color pellets. so all color records are made from clear plastic pellets mostly therefore all color records should technically sound roughly the same(providing the same stamper was used). the colored vinyl can come in a whole array of colors and we have a color swatch with many shades etc possibly a 100-150, it looks like a paint chart its quite amazing really. Colored vinyl is nowhere near as good in terms of audio quality, however dope it looks! the main problem i am told is that color vinyl has a problem with surface noise. the wear rate is roughly the same as black, however black will sound better through its entire life span. coloured vinyl isnt specially manufactured for records like the black vinyl is and this is the reason for lesser quality. the same plastic pellets could be used elsewhere to make cups or whatever... You could in theory spend £100,000s on formulating a special blend pellet but who really has that kind of money to throw away.... Id say if you where to release something go for black viny, coloured records are more of novolty/specialist items... The only real way of distinguishing would be to have a record pressed in black and whatever colour, made using the very same stamper. some releases in the uk may have been stamped differently so will inevitebly sound different."

  16. Hey, so I like getting people to visit my blog, and you like people to know about your band or label, so howzabout sending me records to play on my podcast or review on the blog? I'd also love to share advance MP3s, or talk to you about your 'zine, or any of a series of things. Needless to say, we're a little shy of new material 'round here, so feel free to check out the blog, see what you think, and hit me up via DM or e-mail. http://www.rockstarjournalist.com
