Has anyone heard any update from Dine Alone/New Damage on the shipping date? Their webstore still lists the record as preorder with shipping in June. Pretty tight schedule from today's perspective... 😕

No idea.  I asked this question in one of their Instagram posts, last week, when they advertised the CBK record, and they didn't reply to my comment.

June 27 they responded to my email

Apologies for the continued delays. Unfortunately we're still waiting on these arriving from the pressing plant so we do appreciate your patience once again very much while we navigate these challenges. I hope to have an accurate ETA from them soon and will update everyone once I can. Once your order is filled you will receive an auto update at that time as well! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you in the meantime!

    Thank you,
    Connor

No that makes no sense. International shipping costs are fixed, none of us can do any better unless you are a bigger shipping company that can get cheaper bulk rates. And the savings in taxes far outweigh any fees they may charge (I can't tell exactly how much, but it can't be that much based on the shipping costs). So unless you can find a very generous member here who is based in a tax-free state, has lots of storage space and packaging materials at hand and oodles of free time, a service like Ship7 will be your best option.

Or use a bigger shipping company that passes those discounts on to its users, but yes, the savings in taxes likely outweighs whatever their fees are.

nah, RJ Crowder stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in pre-orders and never delivering a product. SRC just came in and picked up the pieces.

What's amazing is somehow this guy still shows his face at shows in the scene.

May be time for a different hobby.  Get out while you can.  What you’re describing has been the name of the game since I started buying vinyl back in ‘09, personally.  Hasn’t really changed since then.  You either play around the FOMO or settle for whatever Amazon may eventually stock down the road.  Desirable variants and limited editions are probably off the table for you unless - like you said - you’re only buying them for artists / albums you know and love.  Just the nature of new releases and has been for quite some time – I will agree that Covid has really compounded the waiting game and made delays way more common, though.

Preorders have never been consistently delayed for months on end like they have the last 2 years.

The way I look at it, they’re ordered, so you’re gonna get them eventually.  Nothing you personally can do about it other than just wait.  It sucks but it’s all a part of it.  It may be worse now than I used to be, but this has always been a thing.

Were you around for the TOYPAJ preorder?
