  1. Really interested in Deltron 3030. Can't decide between Camera Obscura or D'Angelo... Got that John Maus boxset to worry about all of a sudden too.
  2. Could it be they got some cleared and not others, and "definitive" is stand-in for "best we could do"? Because I'd take that especially if there's only a few they couldn't get. How different are the tracks?
  3. QFT. So did we figure out if this VMP reissue has all the samples of the OG edition of Ready To Die? It's basically the only thing holding me back from resubscribing.
  4. Money's very tight but I had to splurge on this. Frusciante reissues are rarer than a herd of unicorns on a blue moon night, and the mailorder edition with the cassette only tracks on bonus 7" forced my decision. Hopefully Superior Viaduct will reissue the next two. Would be nice to own To Only Record Water for Ten Days for less than ~100 bucks a pop like that other Aussie label charged recently...
  5. Mutations is the greatest album of the late 90s, hands-down. Only Massive Attack's Mezzanine comes close. Not sure if I'm buying this. Will have to listen to the whole thing first. I really don't like the lyrics of Wow. Honestly even with Dreams. and Dear Life, which is great, I'd rather hear the instrumentals. I might buy Dear Life and Dreams if they come out in 7" and/or 12". Beck has OK b-sides and remixes on average.
  6. That's great. I wish every other band releasing stuff that might be missing a side of songs (looking at you Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) take a cue from this, or Neko Case, who tends to throw a 20+ min long ambient field-recording jam on her lps to fill out the side. I hate paying for half-a-side of content: Etchings really don't interest me or impress me.
  7. I've been buying lo-fi experimental-stoner-jam-rock from the label since 2005 back when the handful of pressing plants still existing were dying for American underground labels' business to keep them solvent, so I don't want to shit on Todd/OESB but it might behoove everyone to anticipate delays from them these days, as they get caught up in whatever-the-fuck is going on amongst pressing plants these days and their noisy test presses one hears about far too often. It's not their fault. As most of us know by now, this is an industry problem at the moment, no matter how many news we read about plants opening up. What's not cool is the lack of response to inquiries about the HKE/Ferraro delay at first. A whole EP of new material is as decent a compensation as possible.
  8. Yeah, I like it. I just wish they'd use lime-green for the second LP. Hoping for Steel Teeth on vinyl (my fave album of theirs). P.S. Label Obscura's The Heavy Blinkers reissue just got released too but I didn't preorder cuz there was no incentive, just a straight-up reissue. I might pick it up in stores but I should listen to it again to see if I like the band as much as I did back in the day.
  9. I only saw them the other day! I'm glad they compiled all those tracks... and I finally have a functioning cassette player so I COULD buy the physical releases.
  10. I would say his more recent album and his first, a little bit of both?
  11. Ducktails could fill several LPs with their non-albums tracks already. I kinda hope we see that happen sometime. I got about a half-dozen of their 7"s and 12"s (mostly split releases) but it barely amounts to half their non-album stuff. Yeah, St. Catherines was a little slow and boring, with a few exceptions, even though it sounded great. If I had to sell any of my Ducktails albums, that would be the first to go. The new single is good although it sort of reminds me of Toro Y Moi and hypnagogic pop in general.
  12. I imagine an extra "S" which makes it the plum sauce that drips from the Peking duck you're having and ruins your clothes/
  13. I really wish they'd at least done a 2xLP reissue to spread some of the tracks out (and fill Side D out with b-sides). I'd have paid for that for the price they're asking. I really want this album on vinyl but I really don't want to pay that price.
  14. https://mercuryrev.bandcamp.com/album/all-is-dream Limited edition "Sunset" colored vinyl, 300 copies available worldwide. IMO this is their last great album. Everything else after feels like more symphonic retreads of this one. YMMV. $30 USD <-- Not a fan of this, but the OG vinyl is more $$$ on Discogs.
  15. Still holding out hope those two will be repressed. @NapalmBrain A rarities collection would be nice at this point. EDIT: It's fucking criminal that Cub's albums haven't been reissued on vinyl. The CD reissues with bonus tracks were 10 years ago already. It'd be amazing to have a repress of all three of those.
  16. It would seem it would only take an extra 7" to include those two tracks for a reissue in case there's no extra space on the 12". but I don't think Rhino rolls like that.
  17. I keep getting a "Your cart does not meet the requirements for the JULYTEN discount code" error message. What gives?
  18. Thanks for the update! I didn't get this email. I wish the label would have just gotten back to me. Despite being an absurd length of time between a pre-order and the actual ship date, I'm willing to wait.
  19. So I paid for this and the James Ferraro LP back in January and still haven't received either. I know I'm not the only one. I asked for an update through Bandcamp, no reply. Yesterday I initiated a dispute via Paypal, still no update. This is garbage. Meanwhile the label is selling a reissue of an older album from Vektroid a.k.a. MacIntosh Plus as if everything is hunky dory. I used to love Olde English Spelling Bee but they've really shat the bed.
  20. It's obviously an LP + 7" package. Not sure where the confusion is coming from.
  21. Nice webstore a e s t h e t i c s you got there, Rich.
