Pre-order of something that looks like Oxenfree repress. Strange pre-order page at iam8bitHere is my investigation:

    1. I splited a gif from the page to frames and saw 4 digits: A, B, C, D. Looks like test press, nothing special. But if you look closer you'll notice that the font of the digits looks like the Oxenfree one from discogs page.

    2. Then I looked through the website backend answers and saw that vendor's name is "Night school" which is the developer of Oxenfree.

    3. Also we have a morse code on the page which means "CLOSERNOTMUCHLONGR". Not sure how it related to the game.

Btw, any update about this? I think this was promised for early 2022, and I pre-ordered a year ago...

Speaking of Tennis System, Autophobia is getting another release on RSD, but with a slew of bonus tracks.   Very stoked.

    Normal album plus…

Great. So I bought the initial release circa six months ago for nothing. Really annoying when bands do this. At least wait a year, or five, or ten.

  3. Finally!!!

On April 8th, Matador will release Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal, an exhaustive 45-track reissue of the band’s much-loved fifth and final album. The new special edition compiles the remastered original album, B-sides, home demos, rehearsal tapes, era-appropriate live recordings, and even the rough tracks from Pavement’s scrapped session at Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon studio. Altogether, it features 28 unreleased tracks.

Originally released in 1999, Terror Twilight marked a departure from Pavement’s established operating methods. Which is to say that it was recorded with a big-time producer in an expensive studio. However, for all the talk of “polish” and “precision” it’s still very much a Pavement record. And a great one. Like every Pavement album that preceded it, Terror Twilight thrills and confounds. Often at the same time. Twenty-two years on, the songs remain moody, strange, and eminently deserving of re-celebration.

The 4xLP and 2xCD editions will include a book with never-before-seen photos and commentary/context from band members Mark Ibold, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, Spiral Stairs, and Steve West as well as producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck).

Hi there! If you're reading this you placed a preorder for the deluxe edition of What's the Furthest Place From Here #1 that comes with the 7" vinyl record.

Thank you so much for preordering! That extra step on your part is exactly what stores, publishers and creators all hope to get from readers. It ensures that everyone involved knows how many copies to print, how many copies to order and who exactly wants one.

Unfortunately, this system has failed utterly this time round. Due to long production delays on pressing vinyl, the print run for the 7" records was placed long before the comic was advertised in a catalogue. The creators of What's the Furthest Place From Here (Rosenberg and Boss) and the publisher (Image Comics) seem to have massively underestimated demand for the deluxe edition. As a result, stores are not getting anywhere close to their orders on this issue.

According to our distributor, we have been allocated just 10% of our order on the deluxe edition of What's the Furthest Place From Here #1. That means we should not expect more than a tenth of our order to actually arrive. As of this writing, we have not received any copies whatsoever, so it could be that we're not even getting that 10%.

This is a rare occurrence and we offer our sincere apologies. This is not the way the preorder system is supposed to work. Not even close. At the moment, we have no copies of the 7" vinyl. If our 10% allocation does arrive, we will comb our inbox to determine the earliest preorders chronologically. The copies we do receive (if any) will go to the earliest received preorders.

On the bright side, Rosenberg and Boss have confirmed that they are going back to press for another batch of #1 deluxe edition with the 7" record included. However, it's unknown just how long that will take to arrive. If you'd like to be on the list for those 2nd printings, please let us know.

If you've preordered the whole run of What's the Furthest Place From Here deluxe editions and are now unsure of your interest in later issues without a copy of the deluxe edition of #1, please get in touch to let us know that you'd like to change your order.

We do have plenty of copies of the regular edition and we'd be happy to set one or more aside for you regardless of whether you're also getting the deluxe edition.

Thank you very much for preordering and once again, we apologize for the system failing so miserably.

Statement from my LCS (Local Comics Store/Shop) FWIW.

I asked to be in queue for the 2nd printing + 7" of Issue #1.

The comic book itself has been getting good reviews, btw.

Anyway, I hope they compile all the 7"s into an LP down the road, maybe once the trade edition is collected, for everyone who missed out. Would be cool if they did something similar to this, which had an OGN by Jeff Lemire (The Sweet Tooth guy) packaged as a storybook with the LP: https://www.discogs.com/release/9079543-Gord-Downie-Secret-Path

  5. Album #4 Stareside from Billow Observatory (aka Jonas Munk of Manual and Jason Kolb of Auburn Lull) available for pre-order.

Blue vinyl limited to 625 copies. You might want to wait for copies to hit distros & online stores like Juno since shipping might be better depending on your location. Ships in March 2022. Then again, if you buy from Azure Vista you usually get some snazzy stickers and even a free CD if you're really lucky.

Nice. Still need to play this. Like SS but it's fairly meat and potatoes so I'm waiting for a Steam sale at like $15-.

I'm honestly pretty disappointed that SS4 is a prequel to SS 3: BFE which was itself a prequel to the series. I guess I was expecting a bigger graphics upgrade/whole new engine upgrade (and heck, maybe some "plot progression"). IMO the series peaked with SS2, its bright colours and alien landscapes.

Received the reissue this morning. Rare occasion at the moment where instead of a delay they have bought the release date forward & I still got it early!

Just Velocifero needed to complete the Ladytron set now

Yeah the RT notification email was really funny because the pre-scripted message was all apologetic (since I'm sure 99.999% of the time those are sent out regarding delays), and then the actual release date got pushed up a week. I thought RT were being cheeky for a good minute.

  8. Yeah, I understand the temptation to bundle these two since the band has always insisted they were twin albums but I think we would have been happy with 3LPs of both, if anything to spread the main albums out onto 2LPs. I'll buy this at the store regardless.
I feel as though a lot of anniversary editions for a few years now are always missing a few key extras (whether it be fan fave b-sides; incomplete EPs) and replace them with stuff no one asked for, like modern re-recordings or new mixes of songs on the album that aren't that hugely different than the OG mixes (although I like the album of covers concept).
