  1. Sweet! Rough Trade is already limiting online browsing to 20 minutes, and it's still 49 minutes to 6PM UK time as I type.
  2. Got me an Add N to X. Looking for Durutti Column (hopefully Juno or Piccadilly will come through).
  3. You know that Hollywood Squares meme where everyone is "You" and the person in the middle is "Not You"? RSD Drop 2 just did a "Not You" to OST vinyl collectors.
  4. Deluxe swirl was a no-brainer. I'm sure that zine is going to be worth it.
  5. They're also releasing The Russian Futurists' The Method of Modern Love on vinyl for the first time. I've been waiting for this day for 21 years. This was Panda Bear or Dan Deacon before either of them were doing the "hyper-Casiotone/bedroom-pop" thing. https://shop.paperbagrecords.com/collections/vintage-collection/products/the-method-of-modern-love-20th-anniversary-edition Just 200 copies. I'm really hoping to grab a store copy. It's gonna sell-out fast.
  6. Woo hoo! Full refund it is. You'll rarely see me praise a major, but UM UK can get it!
  7. So the parcel that arrived was severely water-damaged. The hype-sticker has a water-line stain across it, the entire top-left section of the front cover is warped and the top portion of the spine is heavily creased, but the inside sleeves are fine and I'd say 95% of the rest of the box set is no more worse for wear than your average shipped parcel from the UK these days. Since I bought my copy from Universal Music UK (UMUK) they have an excellent portal for reporting damaged items. You even get to choose whether you want a refund or return (I asked for a refund since I'd rather keep this than roll the dice on something similar happening with another delivery attempt, never mind the cost associated with shipping it back). I'm obviously okay with a partial refund, as well. Has any one had any luck with getting damaged items resolved via UMUK and/or Sound of Vinyl UK? EDIT: Lol my last post's annoyance with direct-mail/PO-only box sets confirmed to the utter max. If enough copies of this made it to a local record store, I wouldn't have a water-damaged box-set to deal with. Would be happy to have paid a premium + tax to receive a pristine copy that way.
  8. Sound of Vinyl UK still has copies ( and all told, it's about 35 CDN cheaper than if I bought from the US site), but that likely means shipping cost to US is going to be steep. Worst thing about pandemic vinyl collecting are these 4xLP boxsets (like this and the Grandaddy one) that don't make it to stores because A. Delays upon delay wrt to the release date itself (some related to pandemic, but mostly due to bands not having their shit together and especially, having apparently zero clue about vinyl manufacturing backlogs) and B. Everyone is pre-ordering boxsets online due to perceived (or actual) FOMO.
  9. So I randomly got some PayPal credit (less than 2 CDN) on June 6th. No email letting me know. When I go in to the details of the transaction I get "Class.Action.Settlement" as part of the weird codes listed. So, either Canadian PayPal users got a pittance of a credit over something the company did wrong (like violating an aspect of Canadian consumer or banking law) but just in case it's somehow related to this infamous debacle I wanted to share what happened in case others who bought from OESB got a weirdly small amount of credit in their PayPal account as well.
  10. Lupe Fiasco Food & Liquor sounds great; nice sleeves too. Makes me nostalgic about my college days.
  11. I guess now I wait until the 19th of June & pray that Juno or Norman has some stock. I knew Touch & Go would fuck this up, and royally. They're sadly inept for such a venerable label.
  12. You posted this reply a 11:58AM EST. 2 minutes before noon. I had the page loaded but when I refreshed just now I am 4007 in queue and apparently will have to wait 37 minutes. Stupid fucking RT.
  13. Thank you! I couldn't figure out why local stores weren't listing *any* copies of this online.
  14. Your luck is my loss. You beat me by a minute. I guess that's what I get for asking for help.
  15. And yet I couldn't find any, and all the local record stores have sold out on the handful of copies they received. I was 13th in line at one place and their one copy sold out. Typical RSD bullshit. Anyone who can help me track down a copy of the Dirty Three boxset (Canada & UK preferred) please let me know.
  16. Fwiw, I heard that there's only 400 copies allotted to NA.
  17. Yeah, I think being mum about the lack of updates about the box-set's album mix/sample status was a bad move, especially for anyone who isn't strongly compelled by the 2 discs of remixes to want to double or triple-dip on this particular album on vinyl. I think the guys in the band are in "recoup mode," possibly hoping to break even on a delayed & likely costly release, and decided that staying silent would generate speculation & false rumours, which in turn generates the highest number of sales. Not great, but this box set was botched from the get-go. IMO it should have been released on the actual 20th anniversary with the 2017 blue transparent colour. But that's in a perfect world.
  18. I think the other "big deal" sample is having the bass groove be actually Madonna's "Holiday" as opposed to "Holiday Rap" which samples it. But I stopped caring enough to keep track of what is or isn't in the newer mixes anymore tbh. Even so, I'm glad to know this box set has the OG "Frontier Psychiatrist".
  19. I always like the Cornelius remix, which sounds like every other Cornelius remix, granted. However: As if that's a bad thing,
  20. Thanks for the Discogs selling tips. Some good workarounds suggested,
  21. Does that mean they'll strike a new master plate/new remaster, or use the 2017 ROG plate?
  22. Techincally a second pressing of the reissue. Fingers crossed for the same thing to happen to Ten Silver Drops even though there were pressing issues/people grousing about the per-side runtime the first time around. All the local record stores carried the first reissue of Now Here Is Nowhere so I didn't preorder TSD. Meanwhile local stores carried like one copy of the TSD reissue at most, and it sold out before I got my hands on it.
