  1. FWIW this and the 10th Anniversary Leaf reissue from late 2005 (Her first LP "Everybody Alive Wants Anwers 2LP" that should be relatively easy to find online)
  2. My US list is a "Top Five": Sunny Day Real Estate -- The Rising Tide Concord Bicycle 2 x LP 2500 David Bowie -- Cracked Actor (Live Los Angeles '74) Parlophone/Rhino 3 x LP 5000 The Sundays Blind -- 25th Anniversary Edition FUGITIVE LP 1500 Field Music -- Tones of Town Memphis Industries LP 650 Air -- Le Soleil Est Pres de Moi Parlophone/Rhino 12" 2000 UK list stuff that I will likely never get a hands on (I'd *kill* for that Elastica reissue): ELASTICA : ELASTICA – LP + Flexi Disc + Fanzine Colleen : Colleen Et Les Boîtes À Musique – LP ; Colleen : Les Ondes Silencieuses – LP ; Colleen : The Golden Morning Breaks – LP Cocteau Twins : Four Calender Café – 2LP ; Cocteau Twins : Milk & Kisses – 2LP Television Personalities : And Don’t The Kids Just Love It – LP ; Television Personalities : Mummy You’re Not Watching Me – LP ; Television Personalities : The Painted Word – LP ; Television Personalities : They Could Have Been Bigger Than The Beatles – LP
  3. Thanks! Reviews suggest they're OK but that they're really only good for small-eared folk, which I'm not, so I guess I'm passing on the Feist deluxe set but as far as LSTN goes, the wood is reclaimed, the faux-leather is vegan and some of the proceeds go to some sound charity FWIW.
  4. But just for add ons, which is fine, and believe it or not those charges are fair(-ish, I'd have preferred a dollar less on each but ).
  5. Thanks, that's good to know. I'm going for a 3-month international plan for $108 listed... I'm not sure if that's in CAD or USD (Makes all the difference in the world given the exchange rate). Hmm maybe they did you a solid considering you bought 3 at once. For a Canadian like me, this is the deal according to the FAQ: Add On Shipping: Add ons ordered from the store will be bundled with your upcoming subscription shipment. Because shipping is charged by weight, additional shipping charges will be incurred. Those charges are broken out as such: Canada: $5 for the first item; $3 for each additional item
  6. If we buy something from the store, do they put it on hold until the next ROTM ships out to be eligible for free shipping or will they cover the cost of an "off-cycle" shipment too?
  7. Thanks! They might have to be indoor headphones since that wood finish is liable to get dinged a fair bit outside. The Feist store editions are maybe a Canadian pressing? Maybe she's self-funded this run to maximize profit?
  8. Guh? Just meant this one would be more expensive than the others. I'm pretty sure those PO prices will go down closer to release date. How would they fare compared to Grado 60s?
  9. Hey everyone, @moonshiner posted this info in another tread http://feiststore.com/pleasure/fe030003-feist-pleasure-deluxe-package/ It includes the following: "LSTN Headphones - Beech Wood Troubadours w/ Mic". Can anyone vouch for the quality of these? They look neat but looks aren't everything to say the least. .
  10. HEADPHONES??? Has this *ever*been done? This is nuts! It's like the Metal Box for audiophiles. I'm not in the market for one but I'll repost this in the gear thread to see if those headphones are as good as the ad copy claims.
  11. It think it's beyond hilarious how a "debate" or "argument" formed around me laughing about the shit titles in a record store's RSD 2016 overstock bins. Frankly though? It's also kind of pathetic and sad, because it's a 100% totally fictional perception of criticism. FWIW I happen to have noted many times earlier in the thread that I'm into a lot of RSD 2017 stuff but apparently context means absolutely nothing here! Meh.
  12. 100% agree with all of this. Interesting that the distros might be applying pressure; didn't think of that aspect but who wants their shelf-space clogged by RSD overstock if the stores themselves are blowing them out to begin with?
  13. It is when the "bunch of shit" is 100% RSD 2016 stock. Sigh, let me spell it out for you: No RSD? No RSD stock to order from, hence no milk-carts for me to look at a year later and talk shit about. Straightforward cause and effect.
  14. It's her first double LP, hence the price. Occam's Razor, folks. It's an 800-year old classic for a reason.
  15. The first option. You do realize that it's only been around for a decade, right? Yeah I never even so much as inferred anything close to saying "RSD is dead" so kindly take your strawman fallacy and shove it you know where Me critiquing a local store's bad RSD overstock has nothing to do with RSD how? Please explain. Use logic.
  16. Except this is a store, Rotate This!, that has a punk, hardcore, indie, lo-fi aesthetic to its curating; context your replies continue to miss because you don't even think to ask for it (not that it stops you from providing uninformed rebuttals). My point is simple: They 100% should not have bought that content, and certainly not at the volume they did; they misread their clientele despite 25 years in the business, gambling on punters with a taste for Top 40 pop to show up when almost every other record store in town caters to a more mainstream/trad-rock demo. They were inarguably wrong about that, with the discounted overstock being proof-positive of that.
  17. Neat! Fans of pitch-black ambient music like Battra, don't sleep on this! P.S. This is pretty much the same material as the Rune Grammofon CD box set from a dozen years ago btw but without the bonus disc content.
  18. You're defending Justin Bieber LPs FWIW. Oh, and Ed Sheeran. Also, how did you go from me clearly typing "three" to you going "a milk carts [sic.] worth"? Read comprehension fail much, friend?
  19. The #1 reason I hate RSD is because they clog pressing plants with bullshit no one buys (just browsed through three milkcarts worth of 5 dollar discounted RSD 2016 titles at the local store today for ex). But the #2 reason is the picture discs in particular.
  20. Good luck to you all. I waited hours in 2014 in the cold and then was stuck in a roped-off conveyer-belt line that ran around the inside of the whole store (meaning you couldn't cut in line to get to cashiers if you found all you need) only to be told that only a handful of copies ever made it over in North America and they never got a copy. It was literally the only thing I needed that year, too. Your best bet is to order from Norman Records literally seconds after their RSD inventory goes up. I could have done it in '14 but I hedged.
  21. http://www.juno.co.uk/products/gas-narkopop/644281-01/ Always try Juno first; they're often cheaper (by 10 quid in this case) than Boomkat. Granted, there's no pre-order with them but I'd be astonished if they don't secure many, many copies. Whether their shipping rates are worse or better than Boomkat for you? YMMV.
  22. As a proud owner of the Hazyville//Ghettoville boxset, this was an insta-buy for me as well.
  23. The US list also contained an Elastica reissue that was a UK import a few years ago. Waited 90 minutes in line and a slow as molasses crawl through the store only to be told it didn't arrive in the shipment. Neither of these bands have a strong US following; the labels reissuing this stuff are both UK-based anyway. I'm 99.9% certain the listing means "available to order for the North American market" rather than "made/distributed in North America". Oh damn, this changes everything. I'm going to grab Nassau Coliseum and David Live soon and this is an essential piece of the Diamond Dogs Tour which is one of the few Bowie tours that I really care about. Too bad they couldn't fill out side 6 with some extra live cuts from the era but maybe there aren't any.
