I used to see them all the time when they played as Smackin Isaiah, this stuff is good but I’m more looking forward to  Benefits press. 

Apparently you were lucky to get one as I wasn’t able to get any for my store at all. I’m very disheartened by the “allocation” processes over the last few years. Especially with releases like the Phish LP this year. I ordered multiple copies for my store and was only able to get one. I was turning people away all day, yet Plaid Room has almost 300 copies to sell online the next day. I mean, why get up and get in line at my store next year when I probably won’t have what you want and you can just get up the next day and order it in your pajamas. Defeats the entire point. Granted I have a very small store and probably could have only sold 20 copies or so but that is 20 copies that would have been sold at an actual record store.

INFO:   Before they were A Wilhelm Scream, they were Smackin' Isaiah, and in 2000, they self-released this album on CD the DIY way. Damn near 20 years later, this album is being released on vinyl for the very first time via Purchase Street Records. This new version also features seven extra tracks culled from compilation CDs, now all available in one place. Limited edition of 300 copies.

so this album is my favorite since chase this light, and up there with their best work. cannot stop listening to it and every song has grown on me with each listen.

PAUL WESTERBERG STEREO/MONO!!!!!!! This is one of my all time favourite albums and is one of those albums that I think I've listened to more than any other album. I don't even know why - it's not his best solo album (though Mono fkn rips) - I think I've always loved the home-recorded imperfection of it all, the fact that there's weird ambient noises, song cut-offs, and terrible drumming, which kind of made me feel okay to record music like that.

Also excited about the Wrens - hopefully that means more reissues in the future?

Man shipping is crazy but whatever, not missing out on these.

No doubt Soft Bulletin is amazing. I'd go so far as to say it's my favorite album from them. They really fell off for me post-At War With The Mystics, so I'm not a huge fan any more, but the earlier stuff is great.
 
Long story short, I'm with shlebs on this one.

I really respect TFL a lot, but something about their music just rubs me the wrong way. I remember the videos from this album, and maybe it's an associative judgement. I mean, if I don't see something else I "need" I'll probably grab it, but I doubt I'd listen to it more than twice. Again, their very talented and inventive/ unique, but it's just not my cuppa joe (usually).

Hope y'all that aren't interested in The Soft Bulletin already own it. Such a great record.

Still waiting on Cobra, which is coming today, but got Dots and Emperor and my dumb ass got lucky and got a winning card in my copy of Emperor. HELL YEAH!

I don't think this or the empyrean was ever announced officially, shops just started taking preorders and that was that.

It came to $164 and change after some type of discount from a couple months ago. Think it was a 15% off coupon. 

Loving these reissues. I’m surprised there wasn’t a thread for the first batch. We should make this a Prince super-thread since this reissue campaign will be going on for quite a bit. 

I’ll be open about it. If someone is bothering someone else, the person being bothered should block the individual doing the bothering and report it to the mods. End of story.  Encouraging further bothering by repeatedly responding in threads, calling names, and then crying victim is ridiculous and is just as responsible for thread derailing and closures as the alleged bothering.
