Grey vinyl is the ugliest shit on Earth. Honestly, I can't believe people look at it and feel compelled to own it based on the look.

Okay. I just did about 6 side by sides and I cannot audibly tell any difference. I compared the inner groove markings and the press is identical on both. If anything, the first press has a slight bit more punch but I'm talking such a small difference. Both sound great. While I was at it I figured I'd capture my collection, cause why the hell not. 
 

Ebullition has copies available so Deep Six is probably shipping them soon, if not now.

Hydra Head has copies of the Discordance Axis reissues of "Jouhou" and "Ulterior" up on RTK for $8 and $10, respectively

I can't believe this band would want to sign with a bigger label and try to get paid for the music they create and hard work they put in.  What a bunch of assholes!
 
Also, Gojira is on Roadrunner, but it seems like everyone has forgotten about that in this thread.

"Yeah...let's sign with the label that signed & released Nickelback albums!  And will also be able to properly promote us, give us worldwide distribution, tour support and more resources to spend more time making our records!"
 
I don't know why anyone is surprised or upset at this.  Road Runner is Warner which is Atlantic.  I'm from PA and have seen this band countless times, I think it's cool they did this.

Just picked up my white whale today.
 

 
A quick birthday story: I went to Amoeba today to do a quick browse and when I got to the back near the electronic and hip hop vinyl I glanced up at the rare record wall. Looking right back at me was the original Australian pressing of the only album The Avalanches ever put out, Since I Left You. It was my third time seeing a version of it in the wild, but I had never seen the original Aus pressing for sale in real life or online. Sleeve had a bit of wear but the disks were clean!
One of my top 10 albums of all time, I knew I had to buy it. I grimaced for a few minutes at the price, but it was too much of a cosmic coincidence for me not to get it. It appeared to me as a gift to buy myself for my birthday, and who am I to argue with the universe?
Just listened to it and it sounds immense and incredible - like hearing it for the first time again.

Oh my god this thread started good and only got better. I loved "Chez Viking" so I'm sure this new EP will also be great.

Really hope that someday someone sees fit to unleash every passable track from the 200 or whatever she recorded for this album. Judging by the bonus tracks released so far there must be a few albums' worth of relative gold going to waste.

The 'for Emily' 10" is interesting since it's a 10" release, but the test press is on a 12". There's an inch of disc without any grooves around the whole perimeter. Looks very cool.

Has anybody picked up the Kiss picture disc reissue? I saw one in a store and it didn't look any different than my original copy.
 
I also saw Carly live a couple days ago and bought the VIP upgrade in advance. It came with a signed laminate, photo with Carly, a brief Q&A, and early entry to the venue (which wasn't advertised). There were even a few people that brought things to get signed, which she gladly obliged. The show was yet another magical experience; the setlist was shorter and there was no encore break, but she performed a new song called Fever.
