  1. Outer Battery started shipping their variant a few days ago too.
  2. I loved In Flames up through this album but they lost me after that. If this was a little cheaper I’d consider it. The re-recorded tracks don’t interest me at all.
  3. Any record stores or labels doing sales today? I just got this in my email if anyone is interested - Hello there from The Flenser, Today is Memorial Day and we are having a flash sale on nowflensing.com with 25% off excluding new releases. You can access the discount with code TALKINGDOG at check out.
  4. Sorry to dig up an old thread but has anybody ordered this LP recently and got the goods? I ordered some merch from him last month and it arrived quickly.
  5. My wife and I had our first child in March and we're on paid family medical leave until the middle of next month (so 12 weeks off). This new program started in Washington State in January and although my wife still hasn't received her first check (applications were delayed for some by 12 weeks) we're very thankful to have this time off to bond with our child and it's kinda perfect since we're stuck inside anyway during this quarantine. As an essential worker, I'm also glad I haven't had to deal with all of this COVID stuff for the past 9 weeks. I did work in February and half of March but I'm thankful I didn't get sick. I've heard of other co-workers getting COVID and now all workers within the company have to wear masks and gloves (I'm a Produce Manager at a local grocery store) while working. My wife works as a marketer at a senior living facility, so her job has also been greatly affected. Our county in WA slowly started opening up some closed businesses a couple of weeks ago but it looks like restaurants , bars, barbershops etc still won't be fully opened even at half capacity until possibly July. It's a strange time for sure, my wife is having a hard time since we aren't able to see friends and family or have them give us a break with our newborn. I'm still thankful we both have jobs and our family so far hasn't been affected by the many deaths related to COVID.
  6. Did Sascha ever say why Apart never was released? I know it ended up being re-worked into Money but I'd much rather hear this than any new material they plan on releasing.
  7. More stuff sold, added a few things.
  8. I have to admit, since March I've been selling a lot of LP's and everybody's been super cool with no complaints. Some people have even messaged me to thank me for selling and getting the records shipped quick with everything that's going on. I checked my history on stamps.com and looks like several are still in transit but only 1 person has even messaged me about a late record since 3/18. I've also had very little trouble on eBay. I think I got screwed on a chargeback or 2 a few years ago but seems like that scam has been cleaned up. Just recently someone said they never received an item I sold to them on eBay (no message or anything just filed a complaint with paypal) but I uploaded the tracking information and the case was ruled in my favor.
  9. The second half of this new record has been growing on me a lot but I'm having a hard time with the first half, especially track 1. I'm all for Mark experimenting as well but his records have been really hit and since the fantastic Blues Funeral.
  10. I finished the book, it was quite a read and Mark pulls no punches about anybody especially himself. The new album is... odd, at least on first listen but hopefully it grows on me. I’d been listening to a lot of Screaming Trees and Mark’s old solo records while reading the book so maybe my expectations got a little out of whack.
  11. Ended up giving Gold and Silver Sessions another shot after feeling lukewarm about it at first, starting to really dig that one as well. For those who need some Elder LP's, Tee Pee Records has most of them for pretty cheap and if you use the code "QuarantineBlues" you get an extra 15% off your order. https://teepeerecords.com/
  12. Yeah, I'm actually surprised he wrote this book, especially knowing it had to lead to some hard feelings. I always held out hope the Trees would get back together just like most of the really well known Seattle bands from that era have. When Lanegan and Pickeral did a couple of shows together in Ellensburg their hometown, that gave me hope. Oh well. My book just arrived a day early, a nice surprise.
  13. His new book arrives tomorrow, I can’t wait to read it. Judging by how some of the Screaming Trees guys are reacting to it I think we can close the book on a possible reunion.
  14. I'll try and attend at least one of these dates but it's not just about the limited releases for me anymore. The last 5 years or so I've taken my Dad to a couple of shops and we grab a beer and lunch after. We don't stand in line or anything, we tend to shop in the afternoon and usually there's a RSD release or 2 we were looking for along with some used stuff we end up grabbing. If we miss anything I just go online and grab them on discogs the week after. My Mom has even started framing the exclusive RSD posters my Dad picks up while we're out. So yeah, it's become more of a father and son thing over the years, which is awesome and we both look forward to it every year.
  15. Interesting and yeah, that totally makes sense. I've noticed the songs on this record seem more straight forward and simple in comparison to TFOH.
  16. I feel the same way. My wife and I have been on leave with our new child for over a month now and every week we've been ordering from our favorite local eateries and breweries to help keep them afloat but we're not just going to give them money. I've also done my best to continue supporting some of my favorite artists by buying records/merch when I can.
  17. I'm still trying to absorb City Burials to form a proper opinion. I didn't like TFOH at first but that one really grew on me recently, mostly because of the intricate guitar work. City Burials sounds a bit bland to me right now and I keep losing interest about 3-4 songs in, hopefully more listens will change that.
  18. This album is definitely growing on me with each listen. I'm not bothered at all by the vocals, in fact, I think they're a slight improvement over previous albums. I like the proggy elements they've added as well, it's nice Elder can continue to still sound like themselves but also evolve and not get stale. Looking forward to when my vinyl copy arrives.
  19. Sad news, I hope they can recover. I've ordered from 1234Go a couple of times in the past and the service was great.
  20. The variant from Outer Battery is delayed until mid-May.
