Great news everyone! Cleaning the female banana input with q-tips and Rubbing alcohol did the job! The sound is now as good as it was before putting the plugs in. Thank you very much everyone for your help!

It was SUPER loud with just the wires... Then I had the plugs in and it got quieter all of a sudden. Quieter the first time I put the Banana plugs in. I can still hear at a decent volume level, but not loud enough for Black Flag. It's perfect when my wife wants to listen to Sam Cooke or Otis Redding.. Amplifier is a Mrantz PM7001 (bought 6-7 years ago), speakers are Tannoy Mercury M20, used to belong to my father when he was younger... Could it be the job on the cable (putting the banana plug on) the problem? I thought about that, but couldn't really believe it, and didn't find other speakers to try...

Yeah, I understand that, but I had cables with only the cooper "filament" that I twisted and roll around the connection on the speaker, and my father saw that and took the cable to the shop to put the banana plugs at the end of the cables. It's way more efficient to plug them in that way (I have BIG cables and they were hard to connect by twisting them around the connector). Now, with the plugs, even when the volume is at max, I'm not annoying the neighbours anymore. It's not very loud, so I thought the problem might be the female banana connectors on the Speakers (they are quite old). That's why I was looking for speakers with banana connectors, so I can easily plug the cables in.

So I have good cables with banana plugs at the ends. I need new speakers but all I can seem to find are RCA connectors? My speakers are really really really old, so maybe it doesn't look anymore like what I have? Not a fan at all, au contraire, I had difficulty finishing the song, but I can totally see people into this kind of music liking it, it's really well done/recorded. Good work man!

Virgil asked 200 people to pay 60$ to press records. People would vote on the records to be pressed. Worked well at first we pressed 3 records I think, almost selling out of all of them (which meant that there would be plenty of money to press more records), but then his vinyl collective business started going south and he used the Coop money to help his business and to organize Craft Beer tour. I think that's about right,,,

UPDATE - Virgil has posted something new on FB, but didn't answer my message! This is getting exciting! I want to believe that it's going to be awesome, that I'll find clue of what he does with his money instead of paying people back, that I'll discover new hidden fact about the coop, but deep inside of me I know it's probably the end... He'll never answer me and I'll never get my money back...

PS - I still think that the Coop was a fantastic idea, and loved the process of choosing the records. Managed by a honest person, it could definitely work!

So I haven't been on here for a while (maybe a few years?), but yesterday while searching for an e-mail I came across one to VirgilDickerson after the Coop fiasco asking to choose between 2 records and 30$, or 60$ back. I asked for my money back and never got it. Sent 3 followup emails and never got an answer. I know it's been a while (February 2011 to January 2012) but I was wondering if anybody ever got their money back. Is it worth it bugging him on Facebook? Also, sorry if this subject is taboo here, I probably missed a few threads on that in the last few years!

My HOFX Story... 1996, I had a radio show in a local radio station. With our card membership, we had 10% at a vinyl punk record store in Quebec City called "Le Sanctuaire du Punk"*. I didn't own any record and I thought they were really cool! I went there and saw HOFX. I Thought it was a Nofx record I'd never heard of (That was before the Internet). I saw on it "Drugs are Good/ We Ain't Shit", thought it was 2 ep, one on each side. I never thought that a 12" could contain only 2 songs. Bought it for 7 or 8$. I liked the song, but was dissapointed that there was only 2 on the record. I was jealous of my friend who bought The Boucing Souls "Manical Laughter". We never went back to store. Sold my HoFX before moving from Québec to Ottawa 6 years ago. * I remember one of their flyer saying "Le Sanctuaire du Punk is getting bigger!!! 5 time more records to steal!"
