Looking forward to the Durand Jones. Haven't pre-ordered, mostly because I think I just want a black version.
Looks like the black version popped up on Fat Beats

Found another 45 gem! This is a Northern Soul stomper by Seattle based F2D (Funky 2 Death) and released by We Coast Records. Just happened to stumble upon it. The side-A cut is worth the $8 on its own, the B-side is pretty funky too.

Just stumbled across this. Former Epitome Of Sound vocalist Eugene Thomas (Northern Soul legend) is making music again. They did a PledgeMusic thing for a 45 which is now over but it looks like copies of it are available via his Bandcamp (not sure how many were pressed). It's a bit priced for a 45 at $13 plus shipping but it sounds so good I just had to get it. Figured I'd pass it on...

Wait, both variants of the Durand Jones LP? I've only seen the translucent orange from Colemine, what's the other? Digging that David Hooper, thanks!
There is a Rough Trade exclusive purple variant and the " first few orders include a limited Durand Jones 45 adaptor" - pressing count unknown

Since I liked that J.P. Bimeni so much I explored other titles released by that label (based in Spain, it seems) and came across a release by David Hooper & The Silverbacks called "It's My Turn" - also great stuff! It came out in 2015 but copies are still available via some retailers.

Also, if you're into Durand, check out J.P. Bimeni and the Black Belts. Been listening to their album Free Me a lot lately, it's really good. Plus, his backstory is pretty insane.
OMG! I just happened to check my emails and saw this recommendation. Having purchased both variants of the new Durand Jones LP it was natural for me to check out J.P. and holy smokes I love this! Just ordered a copy of the LP, never heard of him before so thank you so much!

Omg I can't believe this was pressed and I missed out... if sandwich gets pressed, someone pleeeease get my attention since that's my favorite album from them.
There are some leftover copies right now on the label website along with test pressings. If you don't mind one with a damaged jacket you can get it for only 20 bucks (not damaged is 30).

Psychostick is putting their first album out on vinyl as a 2xLP. It's the one that has the "BEER!!!" song on it, such a classic! I think they said if this does well they will eventually put ALL their albums out on vinyl....schwing!

FYI it is limited to however many are reserved before the project ends, with 100 being the minimum for it to move forward
Well, there are about 6 days left on it and 12 more needed. Going to be a close one!

'3218' by Serbian synth artist Isidor is finally coming to vinyl. For those not familiar, this album is a true synth gem and was picked as Iron Skullet's #1 synthwave album of 2017.

So would this be an official release? The description just sounds like a guy unrelated to the band is doing this.
Here's the post from Chris Volz verifying its legitimacy....just in case there was still any doubt that it was "official'

This is as official as it will get for this title. It's being released under license from Noble Steed Music, they own the masters and control the publishing. Noble Steed acquired the rights after Rock Ridge dissolved, certainly isn't being done without permission from the rights holders.

Just a heads up that 'Venting' by Five Bolt Main is finally getting the vinyl treatment! It's in "funding" mode right now and at least 100 need to be reserved for it to get pressed, but for a title like this I doubt that's going to be a problem. It just went up a couple days ago.

Conceptually, the album was written with the idea to create a soundtrack that could have been used in an 80's anime space opera; inspired by cartoons, video games, and movies, it has a wide array of influences to create an audible escape into a multi-layered musical world. In said world, you will find some of the best electric guitar work to ever grace the synth scene. This album definitely shreds, and in more ways than one! Will be limited to approx 100 copies worldwide.

Anyone know if that Durand Jones 7" will be sold by itself? I wanted to get the bundle, but because of the contents they can't ship media mail so with the shipping it's a bit high to justify. I have the original pressing...I just want that 7" and not have to pay $35 for it haha
On another note...these just landed the other day. Limited to 100 copies and there are a limited amount left, along with some test pressings. Free shipping to USA using code BROCKFAN -

This went live about a week ago. If you like electronic fueled funky grooves, then this is for you. Artwork by Mizucat...bonus!
Cut at 45rpm and mastered for vinyl from the original 24-bit mixes. Pressing will be limited to the amount of orders received.

The 'Girls On Bikes' vinyl EP from Opus Science Collective (OSC) went live the other day on Qrates and it's over half-way toward the pressing goal of 100 already. It will be a 45rpm pressing mastered from the original 24-bit mixes. If you don't know about this EP, it is amazing. It also has artwork by Mizucat!
A mixture of synthwave, electro-funk, and chiptune. There are tracks to listen to here.

Another album from 20SIX Hundred is making its way to vinyl and will be limited to approx. 100 copies (71 already gone as of this posting). Mastered for vinyl from original 24-bit mixes and exclusive album art. Shipping to most countries is $6 or less!

They do offer both but it's extremely rare for a lacquer method from them just because the turnaround for DMM is faster with less steps (cheaper). You'll always see a machine stamped matrix/info in the dead wax when they do this because that's part of the plating process rather than hand inscribing it onto the plates after the grooves are set. They're the largest in the world so of course they do fine work most of the time and records they put out sound fine but a lacquer method will always produce a richer sound. DMM has better pitch matching and can fit more music on each side so in addition to the faster turnaround I think those are the main pros so there is a reason for it. I'm sure it will sound good I'm just letting you know because too many labels throw all these words around (I've seen DMM used as a buzz word too which is really funny) and it looks like you're actually interested in how things work.
The main thing that irked me about their wording was the hypothetical minute of grooves on a record being about 12 inches long when straightened out compared to 18 inches at 45 rpm. That's just too off to even be hypothetical lol a foot of grooves is a second maybe two (the very first groove on a record before it even spins a whole rotation is 3 feet sooo... I dunno it's just not even close so I don't trust it and saying it's a good deal because it's not $40 is weird too)
That wording about the hypothetical minutes of grooves was taken from a different website called "Classic45s", but I totally get what you are saying. The person who originally wrote that probably exaggerated but it's just thrown in there to make a point about 45RPM cuts having better sound (which I think we can all agree is true). The wording about most audiophile pressings selling for $40 is probably generally true, but granted it probably wasn't necessary to put that on there. The people who want this record will buy it because they want it, not because it's a "good deal". There was probably just a lot of excitement to get the campaign up that there was too much focus on trying to "sell" it, if you know what I mean.

You learned a lot it seems but you also gotta know most vinyl audiophiles hate GZ because they use DMM (direct metal mastering) instead of traditional lacquer methods and it results in a sort of tinnier sound than normal methods. Not noticeable to most people but if they wanna use all these buzz words for audiophiles and then press it at GZ I know they aren't actually serious about going for the best sound. Less of a problem but GZ are also the largest plant in the world so quality control isn't the greatest. Especially for small runs.
Interesting. I hear a lot of people say good things about GZ. They actually offer both DMM and Lacquer options per the website. The feedback from the label's first release has been all positive from what I've seen. It's the same plant Blood Music uses from what I understand, didn't they sell a whole bunch? But...then again they have a pretty big built in audience.
[Out Now] Opus Science Collective (OSC) - Girls On Bikes [Limited Purple Vinyl]

Not sure how many of you were aware of this, but 'Girls On Bikes' by OSC is now available on purple vinyl via Sofa King Vinyl and Amazon (Prime eligible, cheap international shipping). Cut at 45rpm and limited to 300 copies.
For those not familiar with OSC, this EP is a standout release from the artist and seriously demanded vinyl and cassette releases. First pressing of the vinyl (black) sold out and both runs of the cassettes sold out fast. This one is a real banger and the vinyl mastering is sublime.
