  1. Fange's new release "Pantocrator" is out now on all digital platforms. Pre-orders for the physical edition (out May 7th on Throatruiner) are up now as well.

    Available at https://deathwishinc.eu/fange and https://deathwishinc.com/collections/throatruiner

The past couple of years have been prolific for FANGE, with two full-lengths and one EP showing a band in perpetual motion. On "Pantocrator", their new studio release, the french trio stays true to their will to approach every record differently, embracing longer formats with these two nerve-wracking 15 minutes tracks written during summer 2020. Recorded and mixed by Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light, Verdun, Chaos Echoes) then mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Converge, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan), "Pantocrator" stands as FANGE's most ruthless-sounding work to date, their switch to drum machines strengthening the impact of their unmerciful sludge / death riffing and noise / industrial deflagrations. These tracks also mark a natural evolution for the band by submerging post-punk-influenced guitars and expressive vocals in their cesspool of abrasive tones. A more accessible stance that paradoxically enhances the painful intensity of their sound, as well as establishing the three-piece as an always more singular, elusive entity.

  2. FANGE "Pudeur" is out now on Bandcamp and all other digital platforms. LP / CD / merch out April 25th, pre-orders up now via both Deathwish Inc's US and european stores - all links at throatruinerrecords.com/fange

"Soleils Vaincus" music video : youtu.be/PNXW2TzWNRw

French mavericks FANGE have showed many faces through their seven-year span of existence, maintaining a strong, consistent output - three albums, two EPs - despite going through several line-up changes. Boiled down to the creative core made up of Benjamin Moreau (guitars, machines), Antoine Perron (bass) and Matthias Jungbluth (vocals), their third full-length "Pudeur" marks another evolution in the band's singular journey. The breton trio returned to Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light, Verdun, Chaos Echoes) to track and mix these eight tracks during winter 2019, bringing the band's love-hate relationship with genre conventions to an higher level.

On "Pudeur", the band delves deeper into their obsession for beefy death metal riffs and noisy industrial soundscapes, conjuring aural body horror through crushing drum machine beats and bile-gargling vocals. Mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Converge, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan), every listen of "Pudeur" reveals more details in the band's layered sound, showing a great care for subtleties beneath their surrealistic avalanche of noise.

  3. DEATHMAZE "Eau Rouge" is out now on Bandcamp and all other digital platforms. LP out February 21th, pre-orders up now. All links at throatruinerrecords.com/deathmaze

DEATHMAZE is the reunion of two of the most hyperactive members of the Belgian punk scene - Gregory Mertz (Daggers, Necrodancer, King Fu…) and Julien Diels (ex-Cocaine Piss, Vuyvr, Elizabeth). Armed with a drum machine, the duo plays dark, metallic post-punk of the highest order, owing as much to The Cure as to Darkthrone.
Recorded only six months after their formation, DEATHMAZE's debut album "Eau Rouge" shows a band that has already developed a strong personal vision. Tracked and mixed by Tim De Gieter at Much Luv Studio (Brutus, Every Stranger Looks Like You…) then mastered by Cult Of Luna's Magnus Lindberg, these six tracks find the right balance between their members' heavier, rawer roots and the more hypnotic, melodic yet unpolished trademarks of the genre.

The LP comes on limited blood red with black marble or black vinyl and is housed in a heavy matte jacket with full-color discobag.

  4. MOURIR "Animal Bouffe Animal" is out now on Bandcamp and all other digital platforms. LP / CD out February 21th, pre-orders up now. Six (!) music videos by Grégoire Orio are available as well.

    All links at throatruinerrecords.com/mourir

"Animal Bouffe Animal" is the debut full-length from MOURIR, a newly-born glacial black metal act from Toulouse, southern France. Initially the brainchild of Plebeian Grandstand's bassist Olivier L., MOURIR is the full-band follow-up to his one-man project Vermine. Bolstered by the addition of members from Toucan, late Selenites and Drawers, the four-piece headed to Laval during summer 2019 to record and mix "Animal Bouffe Animal" with engineer Amaury Sauvé (Birds In Row, Plebeian Grandstand, Necrodancer…).
Helped with a spectacular production - mastered by Thibault Chaumont (Birds In Row, Igorrr, Klone…) - these six tracks are a non-stop barrage of majestic guitar leads, pounding drums and bone-chilling ghoulish howls. Equally influenced by early norwegian forefathers as well as the dissonant approach of their fellow countrymen, MOURIR's take on black metal propels the band as new heirs of the french black metal scene - faithful to the genre's frameworks while adding their own modern touch.

The LP comes on limited blood red with white marble or black vinyl and is housed in a reverse-board heavy jacket with black discobag.

With a reputation built on their radical approach to recordings and live shows, FANGE (Rennes, France) has spent five years refining their outrageous, excessive vision of heavy music over one full-length ("Purge", 2016) and a couple of 12"EPs ("Poisse", 2014 & "Pourrissoir", 2017). Recorded over the second half of 2018 and doped by a new rhythmical section, their second full-length "Punir" (punish) doesn't make any single effort to hide their intents.

On this record, the band continues to distance themselves from their earlier works, more than ever walking the fence between sludge and death metal while still keeping their noise / industrial underlays. This time tracked & mixed by Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light, The Great Old Ones, Chaos Echoes) then mastered at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (Nails, Full Of Hell, Cult Leader…), "Punir" marks a powerful step-up in the band's overwhelming body of work.

  6. IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT's upcoming 2xLP/CD "Vile Luxury" will be out July 13th on 2xLP and CD, and you can pre-order it right now from us or via Gilead Media in North America. Comes in four different vinyl variations - limited "Cloister" (Throatruiner Exclusive), "Grand Central" (Gilead Media exclusive), "Astor" or "Empire Black" vinyl with pantone-printed gatefold jacket. A digital download will be sent closer to the release date. Order it now at http://deathwishinc.eu/throatruiner

New York's nebulous, avant-garde metal outfit Imperial Triumphant redefine sonic darkness on their ambitious new album, "Vile Luxury". A turbulent, frenetic take on experimental noise and progressive black metal, Imperial Triumphant embody the most austere side of the New York underground. Chaos, menagerie, and the perils of the city clash with its reputation for majesty and extravagance. The band aim to portray the juxtaposition between high society and urban decay. "Our city is like the corpse of a giant." The band explains. "What was once so bright, grand and spectacular, is now filled with greedy maggots writhing towards their share of 'success'. We don't support it nor are we against. We only play the sounds of the New York City as we hear them." "Vile Luxury" combines the various musical elements that follow well within the tradition of music in New York, a monolith of the Western world, of constant experimentation and appropriation of all things that enter it, never leaving the same as it came.

Let it be clear : few bands have mastered the art of communicating and releasing tension as well as Lorient, France's DEATH ENGINE. Delivered with an effortless austerity, their suffocating brand of noise rock-infused hardcore is unarguably of the most unmerciful sort. Now back to the three-piece that recorded their groundbreaking debut EP "Amen" (2013), the french band returns with "Place Noire", their second full-length.

Recorded live then mixed in Laval by Amaury Sauvé (Birds In Row, Plebeian Grandstand, Necrodancer) and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (Breach, Terra Tenebrosa, Crippled Black Phoenix), this record is a natural progression in the band's body of work, full of hypnotic patterns, earth-shaking breaks, menacing bass tones and guitars that swing between desperate, angst-driven riffing & feedback assaults. Then the more emotional, expressive vocal approach and the clean-cut songwriting make of "Place Noire" the band's most memorable work while being more abrasive than ever. Blast it at unreasonable volume and feel your body consuming itself from the inside.

  8. For their second LP "Only Love", Detroit punk/hardcore/experimental collective THE ARMED returned to GodCity Studio to work with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou as executive producer. Continuing their signature process of collaborating with different drummers on each release, this time THE ARMED recruited Ben Koller (Converge, Killer Be Killed, Mutoid Man, All Pigs Must Die). The partnership led to an entirely new creative approach for the record, one that allowed them to achieve their most wildly innovative work to date. The goal for "Only Love" was to reach an overwhelming level of intensity without referencing the typical tent poles of the genres they're associated with. By imagining they had never heard punk, metal or hardcore and limiting references to pop and the music of their youth, THE ARMED were able to arrive at an incredibly intense, but wildly unique reinterpretation of aggressive music.

Three years removed from their debut LP, "Untitled" — an album that gained recognition from the likes of Fader, NPR, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Noisey, AV Club and many more — "Only Love" proves to be a nonlinear progression within the collective's catalog, and they continue to demonstrate that we will never know what to expect from them.

"Only Love" is available on limited gold or classic black vinyl. Comes in a matte finish jacket with gold foil embellishment, a full color inner-sleeve and a 24-page full-color newspaper. And a carved wooden box if you act fast.

Pre-order it from us at http://deathwishinc.eu/throatruiner or from No Rest Until Ruin  ( http://shop.norestuntilruin.com ) in North America.

Franco-belgian squad NECRODANCER doesn't waste time with warning shots and directly introduce themselves to the world with "Void", their debut album. Formed in 2016 between Paris and Liège by members hailing from various corners of the heavy music realm (Verdun, Daggers, Death Mercedes, Radio Maquis…) the band establishes with "Void" an already personal, hard-to pin sound. Drawing as much from swampy noise rock as from the punkier edge of later-era Darkthrone, these self-proclaimed funeral grungers are as comfortable with surprisingly catchy melodic hooks as with remorseless crust assaults. Recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé (Birds In Row, Plebeian Grandstand, Death Engine) then mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Okkultokrati, Nails, Full Of Hell) for maximum damages, NECRODANCER's firepower will be hard to ignore.

  11. New NESSERIA track and pre-orders for "Cette Érosion De Nous-Mêmes" are now live at http://bit.ly/nesseria2017

"Cette Érosion De Nous-Mêmes" will be out October 6th via Throatruiner/Itawak (LP) and Deadlight Entertainment (CD). The record comes on limited gold/ultraclear color in color or black vinyl.

"Orleans' NESSERIA have been one of France's most consistent power since their inception in 2003, perfecting their massive, grinding metallic hardcore over two full-lengths and several splits. For their third album the band went back to the same collaborators - "Cette Érosion De Nous-Mêmes" was recorded and mixed by Neb Xort at Drudenhaus Studio (Aluk Todolo, Anorexia Nervosa, etc…), mastered by Nick Zampiello (Converge, Gaza, Cave In…)  and illustrated by Alex Eckman-Lawn (Maruta, Krieg, Hacride…) - but marks a departure from their previous body of work.

While their trademark steamrolling style is still there with grindcore and black metal-influenced tracks ("Forteresse", "Dans L'Ombre Et Sans Visage"), tracks such as "Les Ruines" or "À L'Usure" bring something new to the table, as "Cette Érosion De Nous-Mêmes" is the closest representation of the band's wide scope of influences (screamo, folk, shoegaze…). NESSERIA's sound brilliantly evolves by putting an emphasis on their more emotional, atmospheric side, without ever giving an inch on their abrasive tendencies."

  12. PYRRHON "What Passes For Survival" vinyl preorders are up at http://deathwishinc.eu/pyrrhon (Europe/world) and https://deathwishinc.com/products/pyrrhon-what-passes-for-survival (North Amercia). The record comes on limited yellow piss/olive or black vinyl with reverse-side printed jacket - artwork by Caroline Harrison. A digital download will be sent closer to the release date (August 11th). Stream the opening track "The Happy Victim's Creed" below :

"Continuing to shapeshift and unravel, while using unorthodox songwriting techniques that border on the incomprehensible, avant-garde extreme metal quartet PYRRHON return with What Passes For Survival.

Loosely written over the period of a year, and refined across 6 weeks of touring, What Passes For Survival is PYRRHON's first audio contribution with new drummer Steve Schwegler. It integrates elements of disorienting free improvisation while maintaining a proper foothold in volatile, ferocious death metal. All 4 members contributed at least one song on the album, which was recorded live at Thousand Caves studio with engineer Collin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice) in its rawest possible form, using no click tracks or sound replacement.

    Comments vocalist Doug Moore:

"What Passes For Survival is the first music we wrote with my old friend Steve Schwegler on drums, which makes it the first recording of us with a fresh lineup since our first LP from back in 2011. It's something of a reset for the band that way, and we reverted to a more primal songwriting state while compiling it — we aimed to write the most physically and emotionally intense songs we could, instead of deliberately exploring new sounds. As a result, we ended up using a larger proportion of ideas from death metal relative to our other musical ingredients than we have in our past few releases. Pyrrhon's target sound has always been a sort of animalistic, spasmodic ripping and gnashing, like a dog shaking the life out of its prey, and I think we realized that vision more completely on this album than we ever have before."

"On their debut EP "Revolt", Switzerland's FUTURE FACES delivers some glacial post-punk of the gloomiest order, with a level of mastery rarely heard on a band's first recording. Formed in 2015 in Geneva by members of Equus and Elizabeth, the three-piece aims for a timeless, personal sound, devoid of any soulless revivalism. Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Beastmilk, Okkultokrati…), these four tracks find the perfect balance between the clean and the noisy. With hypnotic drums, abyssal bass lines, elegant yet unpolished guitar work and reverb-drenched vocals, each track is a lesson in stand-out songwriting. "Revolt" is a slow descension into a lightless, enveloping sound, and the birth certificate of a band that is nothing but full of promises."

"Despite releasing forward-thinking records that have pushed the boundaries of noisy, technical hardcore, Parisian band COMITY has remained one of France's best kept secret since their formation 20 years ago. The band entered the studio during fall 2016 with producer Fred Rochette to track "A Long, Eternal Fall", their fourth album. These eight tracks are the band's most definitive musical statement to date, more extreme than the grinding madness of their early days and more massive than the aerial, post-metal leanings of their two previous release, showcasing their love for all things dissonant."

"Three years after their debut album "Aegri Somnia", Lorient, France's DIREWOLVES return with "The Great Year". This new six tracks EP focuses on the more energetic facet of their sound, refining the band's revigorating blend of melodic crust and screamo-influenced hardcore. Recorded & mixed by Guillaume Doussaud at Swan Sound Studios (Amanda Woodward, Aussitôt Mort…), mastered by Dan Coutant at Sun Room Studios (Coliseum, The Sword, Jawbox…) and with artwork once again designed by Førtifem, "The Great Year" is another implacable display of the band's abrasive yet anthemic vision of punk/hardcore."

"Far from resting on the laurels earned with their monumental second full-length, 2015's "Rise To Infamy", Paris most nothing COWARDS keep it busy with "Still". This brand new EP gather all their abilities - the sharpest riffing, the vilest grooves - on side A, with three tracks between thuggish sludge, unmoshable hardcore and knife-fighting black metal. Side B features two life-crushing covers (The Police "Every Breath You Take" and The Horrorist "One Night In NYC") in the grand COWARDS tradition, recorded during the Rise To Infamy sessions.

Once again produced by Francis Caste at Sainte Marthe Studios and illustrated by Camille Blanchemain, "Still" crowns these full-time lonewolves as one of the most focused, major acts in today's metallic hardcore realm. "Formed from the ashes of Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire by vocalist/guitarist Ethan McCarthy (also of Primitive Man and Withered) and bassist Zach Harlan, Denver, Colorado's VERMIN WOMB appeared on many a radar with their 2014 EP "Permanence". While the band’s debut album "Decline" marks the arrival of ex-CTTTOAFF JP Damron on drumming duties, these ten tracks sound nothing like a return to form, as the band managed to be faster, uglier and heavier than ever.

VERMIN WOMB’s brand of ultra brutality gives no quarter, enhancing their no-bullshit grinding death metal with dissonant death/black murkiness, war metal savagery and sludgy breakdowns. With McCarthys’s trademark subterranean barks, raw-sounding blast beats and imperial riffs bolstered by Dave Otero’s thick production, Decline is one of these short albums designed for maximum impact. If you ever wondered how extreme metal would sound like once purged of any unnecessary artifices, here’s your answer."
