I have no cats, so nbd there hahaha. Just curious, have you had to change the soft part that touches the record yet? (how long has it been) do you store the machine with a cover over it to keep it also dust free?

Got a pretty good deal on an A-S500 amp so jumped in and went for it. I found a good deal on some Yamaha ns333 speakers I was going to pair it with. Anyway, part of my question was some of the reason I sprung for this amp was the phono in so I did not need a preamp, I assumed this unit at its range would be pretty good in this department. Curious if anyone had any input into the type/caliber of preamp this unit can “compete” with. And if upgrading to a preamp down the line would be a worthy investment. Thanks!

Looking to pick up an amp for my first setup. Was looking at the Yamaha A-S500 but came across a Yamaha A-28D for really cheap. Im obviously assuming there will be no comparison but was curious if anyone had any input to how good the A-28D is as it would save me a ton of $$$$$ just curious, thanks for any input.
