Finally.
https://www.twoheadeddog.com/v-a-velvet-goldmine-original-soundtrack-2lp/
Expected release date of April 5, 2019.
Orange vinyl pressing of 1500 copies, although the photos from MVD's instagram page state/show otherwise:

This album was reissued as a single LP last year for their tour and it's my understanding Merchbar is selling the remaining stock, exclusively.... I missed out on the first round last year (sold out within a couple days, I believe) and received an email notification of them receiving a limited quantity (as of yesterday afternoon the 24th).
$33 + $10.50 shipping to the U.S. + $2.89 tax (Calif residents) for those interested...

Also available via Travis' U.K. webstore for £25.00 (I believe this and Merchbar are linked):

Already received shipping notification this morning.

Of some interest to probably most of us here...
Looks like it's mainly Priority/Priority Express and First Class postage that will be seeing an increase, Media Mail rate most likely will remain the same. Still, our wallets could end up hurting this year a little more than we were already expecting.

PO = tomorrow for Nothing Feels Good.
http://www.jadetree.com/news/2015/9/16/announcing-the-repress-of-nothing-feels-good
...was hoping for a Promise Ring reissue similar to Pedro The Lion's from not too long ago with the entire Jade Tree discography in one fell swoop.
Still crossing my fingers that the Electric Pink and Horse Latitudes EP's gets a vinyl release. Maybe someday.

Two labels come to mind that pressed oodles of the 10 inchers... pre-2000.
and
Both whom I adore.
My interpretation of these two labels pressing an abundance 10"s were kind of a fuck you to the status quo. And I like that.
But hey, to each their own.
This one still reigns supreme in my collection:
...and this (because the 7" doesn't do the Pettibone art justice):

Its not big and it's not clever. They've all had a go and none of them were much good or someone else would have remembered at least one.
Interesting topic. I have a couple portable record player's from Japan - a Vestax, and the following one (Columbia) that you're able to mount to a wall and play vertically -

Oh, the irony. Though I'm seriously sorry about that.
Never really had any problems, except I did have cats that would chew on the outer sleeves and scratch a bit at records. It never really bothered me because I came to terms with the fact that I will always have felines so I'll just have to deal with it. It was never as bad as what the OP posted though, I'm not sure what I would do about that. I would be ticked off, but again, I'm a feline person and just expect them to destroy everything I love.
As a person who has felines... and prefers them over canines (yep.), I can certainly attest to this statement. (And for the records, my cats have done far worse than that photo.) Especially the plastic sleeves.
That isn't the worse thing to happen though...
I have stacks of records in the living room next to the sofa, or on the side of the bed, someplace to sit, etc. from time to time... usually someplace accessible to my meow meows because they like to lay their lazy bones where ever they want. I would sometimes come home in the afternoon or evening to find kitty puke on the top of a stack of records. They are chronic vomiters, after all. It's disgusting.
It's like parenting in a way with our cats. I also have a 9 year old son who, when he was an infant and crawling and such, had a tendency to put books and paper products in his mouth.... same went with my records. (sigh.) Not too salivated and soiled, though. (Fortunately, he doesn't do that anymore.)
So long as you love them, you really can't go wrong.

Where I live, that would be a microwave in the summer, hence I like the idea of the mail slot. Who doesn't love slots?

I never quite gave any thought into the promo gold stamped albums in my collection, however, do recall the sound quality of them to be superb. Off the top my head, I believe most of the one's I have in my possession to be primarily from Warners and Elektra, and, from the 80's.
Almost certain I have one or more from the following....
Alan Vega
Elvis Costello
The Stranglers
The Clash
The Jesus and Mary Chain
Billy Bragg
Revelation Records
Bob Dylan

Spin posted a splendid article yesterday (the 23rd) with Tim Owen regarding the past, present, and future of Jade Tree.
http://www.spin.com/articles/jade-tree-records-tim-owen-interview/
...which includes this quote "We're going to reissue some of the bigger records, like Promise Ring and Jets to Brazil."
(I'm) Still hoping that Swiz vinyl reissue is happening...

The Vinyl Flat.... it works.

Maladroit was the last, great Weezer album... in my opinion.
Had (somewhat) high hopes hearing Mr. Ocasek was involved... but after hearing that single off the new album... sigh.
If only Rivers wrote more heartfelt stuff such as this one...

I only become aware of the "value" of any of my records if and when I decided to sell any privately or on eBay. Which is rare but does happen.
Same. I also utilize Discogs regarding the research of a record's "value" which includes statistics of sales, and such...
