Listening to the 180g version from this pressing right now, as I'm assuming that's the one you have? Sounds great... No strange background tone here. Third pressing standard weight black has the same matrix as the second pressing. Threw that on and it also sounds good. I can't comment on any pressing after that because I stopped catching them all.

Just checked... The etching that you're describing is from the first round of represses. As you said, the first pressings have the GOLDEN stamp in them.

I probably would've considered this several years ago, but as others have said, it seems unnecessary. If it was live recordings I'd've snapped it up in a heartbeat.

Now that I've heard it, I can agree that this comp is rad. Though, I ordered the super expensive deluxe red version and they sent me black... Hoping that gets corrected quickly. I was surprised by the piano in FT's cover. Pretty cool. I'm annoyed at Chuck Ragan singing incorrect lyrics in the other Cory Branan cover. He says, "it's a requent acquisition" instead or "recent". It's a great cover, but that bothers the hell out of me.
