  1. Hmmm, ok so update! So I took it apart and it seems that whenever I touch the tonearm or the wires that run from the tonearm into the circuit board on the inside, the humming intensifies a lot. The humming still occurs if I do not have it plugged in, so I do not think it is a power supply issue.
  2. I just got an ADC LT 32 Linear Tracking Turntable from a thrift store super cheap. I replaced the belt and stylus, however, whenever I hook this up to the amp, there is a humming sound in the speakers. I have attached the ground to the amp, and it cuts the sound in half, but it is still fairly loud. I know it is the turntable because whenever I unplug the turntable from the amp, the humming goes away. Unfortunately, the cables are "permanently" attached to the record player. I was wondering how to fix this weird issue? I have a video attached to this post.
  3. I found my grandpa's old Sampson reel to reel deck. When I plug it in, there is no "magic smoke" or any weird sounds. It seems to power up just fine. However, whenever I press play, the tape reel or tape hub either doesn't move or (when touched) moves extremely slowly and then freezes up. I was wondering how to find a repair shop to work on this? I know it may not be worth much, but for sentimental value/listening to some old tapes I found with it, I would love to get this up and running. This is run with valves/tubes. I live kind of nearish to the Raleigh/Cary area of NC. I can make a drive into town if there is a good repair place locally. However, if there is an online repair store that you would trust, please let me know!
  4. I found these four “The Beatles” 45’s The Singles Collection 1962-1970 on FB Marketplace. They seemed to be sealed/brand new, but I am not sure if these are factory sealed, or sealed at a record shop to keep people from stealing/testing them. If these are brand new, I don’t want to open them, if they are used, I would like to listen to these! Thanks!
  5. I found this really neat record in a thrift store. It seems to be a commercial for a radio station for a Plymouth Valiant. I was wondering if anyone had any background, historical information on this record? Thanks!
