Yes beside Offspring Smash, the album which brought me to punk rock music. But I am happy to own a standard black copy of that masterpiece. Ok, a limited color edition would be nice, I confess. Curious to see if Smash gets a similar 170 bucks upgrade soon.

Do we see prices above 100 USD / EUR for an album next year? ~ 4.5 Mio. EUR turnover with the taylor swift album alone (60 EUR per LP with 75’000 items pressed). Not bad.

40 to 50 USD / EUR seems to be the new standard for such kind of bands..

for such kind of bands I am happy that the format „greatest hits“ was invented. saw them twice: in original line up before they broke up = no one had fun on stage and once with skiba = the only one who had fun on stage. hopefully the fun is back; if they play some festivals next summer I‘ll check it out.

From an artist perspective it is hard to judge - maybe the wanted it in this way or maybe not. But for me it smells a bit like „milking the cow“ - to fulfill Roadrunner‘s contract and then move on. At least that is what the pricing strategy is telling me. I mean I also spent 40 bucks for the Iowa repress and usually I am in with Slipknot but this time not. I save for G n‘ R UYI 500 bucks edition 😉
