Got this when I emailed about it:

'We are currently experiencing delays with HOPESFALL ‘THE SATELLITE YEARS 2.0’ 2LP (Limited Edition – Only 500 made, Clear Vinyl) and do not have a set ETA at the moment. Our team is actively working to expedite the processing of your order and ensure it reaches you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your continued patience.'

Nice thanks. I totally forgot about it until a buddy mentioned a Hopesfall tune today.

Sent an email before this post, I'm sure I'll get the same response

  2. Wondering if anyone grabbed The Satellite Years 2.0 from Brooklyn Vegan? I'd assume the equal vision ones should ship out around the same time?
Haven't heard anything from my order. Checked the site and it was out Dec 8, 2023 according to their site.

I'm assuming delayed as that's the norm, but can't really find any update.

do you want this to become the new normal for vinyl? because this take is how it becomes the new normal.  im not arguing against the existence of NFTs (if someone wants to buy them, go for it) but im definitely arguing against having to buy a $62 record because its packaged with an NFT. the day that it would cost me over $300 to order 5 new records is the day i stop buying music entirely.  a couple other points worth considering...

    1. this is being done by revolver magazine, who has been around for about two decades, but its only in the last few years they have been pushing their way into selling records, merch, etc. and it looks like they only put out 4 issues a year now. dunno about you, but im not really interested in propping up a business that's in an industry that is slowly circling the drain by buying $62 records that would cost $25-30 (ill grant you, maybe $35) if literally anybody else had pressed it.

    2. trustkill and revolver have cross-posted promoting this release but there's complete silence from the band themselves which tells me everything i need to know about how they feel about this release. not surprising considering their past with trustkill, but still a confirmation.

    Nailed it.

I'll buy vinyl. But don't want this NFT thing to become a thing with limited releases. Those "NFTs" I'd say took about an hour to make (They look like shit) & prolly about $5 to mint on the Polygon blockchain. I'll buy a record for my collection, don't need to pony up for a spinning trading card on an already expensive hobby. (Shipping to Canada sucks)

It's been rough since USPS upped their international shipping prices around 2015. Also the Canadian dollar's strength obviously makes things worse. 2011 - 2013 was the best. $12 - $20 USD records and $6 shipping and the Canadian dollar was worth more than USD. I used to be able to pre-order records from US labels for like $17 shipped. This Vein record cost $57 CAD...I really have to pick and choose what I am pre-ordering for the limited variant, and what I will just pick up locally on black vinyl (or whatever the indie store variant might be).

I was in university back in 2013 with part time service industry income and I could afford to buy more records than I can now with a legitimate salary.

yeah it's wild. Even a few years ago shipping was maybe $12. Then the last year or two its $20+. I've paid more in shipping than the actual vinyl price a few times. It's about $5 cheaper to ship from the UK even lol.

It just sucks cuz I don't think I've ever seen a Vein record for sale at a store in Toronto. So it's either pony up, wait for a tour, or listen to it on Spotify
