This is kinda like a guy saying, "Hey, I'm new to cars and I just bought my first one. It's a Dodge Challenger Hemi."

It may not be a Ferrari, but most people I know would love to have one. (ignoring gas mileage, of course. ).:)

    Nice start!

The A5+ are great, I've been using them for my turntable for years

Thanks. I'll always keep my eyes opened for them. I got the 9LP Box set that came out this year and I can't wait to play the vinyl on my new table when it comes!

I can't help you TOO much, because if I had that Uni I'd probably not be able to let it go. But when it comes Heartbreakers stuff, every copy I have is a 1st (even a gold stamped promo) and I just found them in random collections and thrifting. Most covers are VG or better, and all the vinyl sounds great. So, my advice, is just fall into them. They'll show up. Good luck on the signed Wildflowers!

I ended up getting the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO, with the Sumiko Rainier cartridge. Slight upgrade to the Ortofon 2m Red, HUGE upgrade with the speed adjustment being a rocker switch rather than having to manually move the belt from one pulley to the other, and it's a much classier "satin walnut" finish over the gloss black. I'm pretty happy with the decision.

Now, I just gotta unload the old turntable...

This thread is how I found U-Turn AND one of the reasons I ordered the Orbit Special.
    Thank you.

Yes, all record players need a pre-amp.  The signal coming from the stylus is very low, so there needs to be a step-up transformer to get the voltage to a level that the power amplifier can use to push out to the speakers.

Turntable -> Pre-amp -> Power amp -> Speakers is the order of things.

Your turntable is something that should be upgraded as soon as possible, if I'm looking at the correct thing on Amazon.  The reason being that many of these extreme budget entry players can damage your records.

U-turn and Pro-ject have many turntables for a few hundred that will be a good start.  If you want to really get a good upgrade to last you a while, this one will do very well:  https://upscaleaudio.com/products/pro-ject-debut-carbon-esprit-dc

Pair that with a Schiit Mani pre-amp, and you'll be set to go for a long time.

    100% agree with both suggestions.
Much better quality thanProJect, Rega, AT at similar prices.
U-Turn has awesome customer service as well.

For that price range, I'd recommend the U-Turn Orbit.

My buddy has an Orbit Custom with Acrylic platter, built-in preamp, and the OM5E, which sounds great in my opinion. You can snag that for $284 right now.

I would highly recommend adding a cue lever though, which will run you another $40. Absolutely worth it.
