  1. Remember, that you have "the pledge" this year. So if you don't have a RSD store near you, then you can go online on Sunday and anything the store has leftover will be put online at the *same* price as in store. So if the Mastodon/ZZTop split is $8.99 in store, it will be $8.99 online. Pledge stores can not sell on Ebay until 30 days after RSD.

If you find the websites for most of the stores in the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (www.cimsmusic.com) and Association of Independent Music Stores (www.thealliancerocks.com), bookmark their websites and shoot them an e-mail saturday night/sunday morning, you have a pretty good chance of finding an item that was sold out at your store or your store didn't get in.

Just FYI, everyone shouldn't have to resort to Ebay right away, hopefully. List of pledge stores from the Record Store Day website is here (Pledge was due on Jan 11th, so I don't know if stores were able to sign it after the fact):

If you think that pledge is going to make a difference then you're sadly mistaken. I can assure you there will be RSD titles available at ridiculous prices before and after the special day. Do what I do and wait 3 months and buy them. I've picked up everything I've wanted at retail or less. Remember people have short attention spans.

  2. The seller only took responsibility after I placed a claim with Paypal . Someone should post a sticky with proper packing instructions. And don't get me started on how many times I've purchased records here that arrive damaged. It's pretty ridiculous really.

  3. wait til the vinyl bubble bursts and they will be paying people to take away all these stupid fucking major label cash grabs. anyone who pays $55 for dollar bin garbage is a moron.

NM copies of the original regularly sell for $30 so I don't think it's out of the question to pay $55 for a new copy that has been remastered and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. I've been selling records for just over 20 years and the only vinyl bubble that's going to burst is the one that's holding 25 different colors of the first Blink 182 LP. I sold over 50 copies of the first re-issue of All Things Must Pass in 2001 (well before the current vinyl upswing). Record buyers/collectors will always be around and it's really great to see young people buying them again no matter what the reason.

  4. If you can't handle the heat, then get the fuck out of the kitchen.

I understand a lot of people prefer the quality of audio vinyl produces over any other format, but if you're not willing to pay the premium the shut the fuck up and move along.

MP3s aren't that expensive. If you just want the songs, BUY THE FUCKING SONGS. You obviously have a computer.

I have no sympathy for broke fuckers that can't afford shit they want. That's life. Step your game up and stop bitching. It doesn't make you punk-rock because you don't want to pay a few extra bones for a record, it makes your a cry-baby.

I couldn't have said it better myself!
