I think it's a little innapropriate using words like that ever, regardless of whether you're telling a story or not. He could have said "the n word" and we all would have known what he meant. Regardless of how he said it he still did say it and I don't think thats right. Disagree with me all you want, no one has the right to say those words. If he had said "the n word" then we would have all known exactly what he meant. So I ask you again: How is that any different than spelling out the word? That word will always hold it's power if it is continually treated as unspeakable.

What's not cool? That he quoted his uncle using a racial slur? Should he censor it? If so, why? How is n****r any worse than typing out the word? The effect is the same and you know exactly what he's saying. If we can't discuss the issues without feeling the need to censor everything then we'll never be able to move forward.

These things are not going to be cheap. The bulk of the expense of pressing a record is all up front: mastering, plating, setup fees, etc. After that, a black 7" costs about $0.51/each to manufacture, depending on the plant. So even if these things cost a quarter to manufacture as opposed to fifty cents, a label still has to front hundreds of dollars for plating and mastering which will keep the total cost of a flexi-disc project unreasonably high. These made sense back in the day, but in 2010 this is completely pointless.

This is a very nice hotel and last year most everyone stayed there and lounged around the pool when they weren't at the fest. Even those that cheaped out and rented cheap motels ended up hanging around the Lafayette because that was where the party was at when there weren't shows. I highly encourage everyone to stay at the Lafayette, it will be a blast and is worth the extra ~$20 or so per night extra over a cheap-o motel. Regular rooms will be $99/night and poolside is $139/night if I remember correctly. We have a very limited block of rooms reserved but if they sell as quickly as we anticipate we will reserve another block and open them up. I've been listening to this record non-stop for a month now and it is fucking incredible. Without a doubt this is my album of the year. There's not a weak track on the album and the sequencing is perfect, it flows seamlessly and feels like a solid, cohesive record, rather than a bunch of songs thrown together to make an album. I'll be on tour with Rumspringer next month, so if they're coming to your town let's party!

My friend booked that show, I didn't hear about any issues. What happened? They originally started as a joke and were going to play one show on New Year's eve but it's pretty fucking good so they've done a few shows since then. Still not a very serious band but it's damn good.

About how long do these last? My case just broke over the weekend and I'm getting sick of the bulkiness of a case. I'll only cover the back probably. A friend of mine has the Invisible Shield on his iPhone. He loves them because they're not bulky but they honestly don't last that long. The corners peel up after a few months and the edges trap dirt and the phone just looks dirty. Sometimes the material they use will turn yellow. Keep in mind, all of these issues are covered by their lifetime warranty. There is a kiosk in a local mall that sells/installs these. So he takes his in ever 3-4 months and has it replaced for a $5 charge. He doesn't mind this because he hates the bulk of cases and he can get the replacements locally, it'd be a huge PITA to have to mail them back all the time. I'd rather just have a naked phone get scratched up because when these things start peeling and catching dirt in the corners it starts to look even more ugly than a scratched up iPhone, especially if you have a white one.
