  2. Sorry for the slow response, I don't check this board too often.

It will again be Labor Day Weekend (first weekend in September). The 4 venues involved from last year are confirmed (Radio Room, Soda Bar, U31, the Office) and we're working on adding one or two more. We're looking on upping the amount of bands to around 84 and the ticket sales to 500 (depends on the amount of venues we end up with).

There is tons of interest from bands, I think the final lineup will be really impressive.

We're working on getting a website live within the next 2-3 weeks.

  3. HEY MODS...why hasn't this thread been locked?? why wasn't it locked before it got 4 fucking pages in with a bunch of "Punk Rock Know It Alls" mouthing off (most of which don't know their dick from a hole in the ground)...I'm not defending anybody specifically or calling anybody out specifically, but this is fucking retarded guys. Air Out The Dirty Laundry Else Where

hahaha... you're an idiot if you think censorship is the way to handle this.

  4. I have a bunch of pocket knives.

My first was a medium Case trapper my grandpa gave me when I was 13.

Then I carried a large Case trapper.

Then I started carrying a Benchmade tanto that I beat to shit, broke the tip, chipped the edge and dulled it out. I sent it back to Benchmade because all of their knives are covered by a "LifeSharp" warranty. They ground a new edge and tip and disassembled the whole thing, relubed the internals and made it like new again.

Now I carry a Kershaw knife I bought about a month ago. It's my first assisted opening knife and I love it.

I also carry a SOG Micron-Fusion on my keychain. It's only like 1.5" long and it's perfect for opening up record boxes and stuff. Here's a picture, really cool little knife for $13.

I have tons more fixed blade hunting, bowie and military knives. I'm sort of a knife junkie. I'm actually looking into learning how to forge my own knives.

  5. You guys realize that the people buying this shit were in their 20s or younger when these games originally came out. Now they're in their 40s and beyond. They have the money to blow on this stuff so they do. It's not like they're saving their spare change to buy a $20,000 game, they have the money.

  6. i still don't get this logic that a label screwing up and then making good is somehow desirable

what about a business that avoids making simple mistakes?

Because EVERYONE fucks up and makes mistakes. Have you ever had to sit around stuffing 300 records? Sometimes you stuff a green copy one record in an order instead of a blue copy, or put in their first LP instead of the second one. It's just human. When someone makes a mistake on my order I'd like it to be the type of company that is willing to address the situation quickly.

There are plenty of people that refuse to correct their mistakes, and when that happens, it's a headache for all.

Perfect example: BofA forcloses on the wrong house, causes all sorts of shit for the owner, then refuses to take responsibility.

  7. It's Alive have been great (even though I don't agree with the shipping which demands you place a large overseas order or pay through the nose for one record).

I've talked to Adam a few times about shipping costs for setting up my own online distro where we've discussed the merits of flat costs vs. by weight vs. by country, etc. Unfortunately, for a small label a flat international rate is the easiest to deal with. The reality is it's nearly impossible to do it on a country by country basis. The rates varies so greatly from country to country that it's nearly impossible to do it that way. I've shipped a 7" to Germany that only cost $6 so the next week when I got an email from a dude in Austria about a 7" I quoted him the same... wrong. It was like $11. It's super easy for a label to get burned shipping international. I know I've shipped tons of stuff overseas and didn't charge nearly enough.

Anyways, about distros... I wish I lived in the UK just so I could order from Alan of DIFFERENT KITCHEN. Dude is the best!

  8. Rollover minutes are so silly. I mean, they're cool to have and all but I would be willing to be most people just accumulate them and never, ever use them.

This is true for most, but my talking habits can fluctuate. I'll probably use 500-600 minutes this month, next month could be less or close. So I'm thinking of paying for 900 the next couple months then bagging a few hundred rollovers and downgrading to the 450 plan, that way I can talk for 500 minutes without paying out the nose.

  9. If I accumulate a bunch of rollover minutes and then downgrade my talk plan (AT&T allows you to change your talk plan, up or down, whenever you want) will the rollover minutes still be there? I just signed up for a new AT&T account at 900 minutes a month and it looks like it's too much. I'm thinking of keeping it at this plan for another month or so and accumulating a bunch of rollover minutes and then dropping down to the 450 plan and then using rollovers if I ever need more. I just wasn't sure if AT&T sees this as some sort of system cheat and take your rollover minutes away if you change your plan.

  10. i thought the opposite of mexican coke... tastes just like that new coke shit from the 90's. give me the classic.

    I'm sorry but you're insane.

Mexican Coke is the best. It's regular coke but made with real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It's nice and sweet and delicious. Nothing goes better with a bunch of carne asada tacos than a Mexican Coke. Yum.

Makes me wish I didn't give up drinking soda.
