You know what they meant when they said "the city", the whole world refers to NYC that way. So even though Buffalo is a large city in it's own right, people know NY for NYC and that's what they're going to ask about. I get your point, but a part of you was fucking with those people.

so how'd you do? I had approximately 250 paying kids, plus tons of people that snuck in and a bunch of friends that took advantage of the large turnout and insisted I let them in for free. The place was way over capacity and we all just had a great time. I honestly can't believe I worried about it the way I did. I gave the venue more than we originally agreed, the bands got paid well and there weren't any issues. It was a great night!

As you can tell it's easy to grab one first press copy and one second press copy and just swap the records around. If you buy a "RARE" double white or double black copy you've been had.

Yeah, my friends that book and promote say I shouldn't worry that these kids just know about these shows cause they follow the dates on myspace and stuff. I'm just kinda worrying out loud because I need at least 100 paying kids to cover expenses.

I'm just hoping for half that turnout. I need to pay the venue $300 and then I'd like to get the bands a good chunk of cash as well. They've played here before and there's always a really good turnout; there's this whole group of kids that are into AJJ and stuff but I have no idea how to reach them. They're all underage and really into the whole folk punk thing and therefore aren't a part of the same "scene" as me so I have no idea how to reach them. I've got flyers at the venue and at local record shops. I'm hoping that these are the kinda kids that just know about the shows because they pay attention to tour dates on the internet and stuff.

I booked this show. Hopefully some people can make it. Should be fun.

The Denton comp looks great but it's lack of Stymie is depressing.

Oh yeah, my local place has it in 22oz bottles. If I get a chance I'll stop by and pick up a couple. If you want them I'll ship them to you, if not, I'll drink them.

Check Bev-Mo, pretty sure they carry Lost Coast products. They're good about carrying micro brews from different regions everywhere. If not, my local specialty liquor store carries their stuff. The Lost Coast Stout is good stuff.

When Pinhead Gunpowder played at the Troubadour last year the face value of the ticket was $5. The only way to get tickets was online through Ticketmaster. Total value for ONE ticket when it was all said and done: $12. No bullshit.

All these smart phones are cool but there is no way I could ever justify spending $100+ a month on cell phone coverage (including the broadband fees).

I'd like to see a sale on flatstock. I'd love to do a screen printed cover on a record but right now I can't justify the cost. Also, your garage sale is always great.

Jansport are the best and proof that you don't need to spend a shit ton of money to have a quality bag that you can literally not care about and will last for years.
