Best Sounding Record?
thesupervillain replied to anastasis's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
FLAC vinyl rips are bigger than FLAC cd rips because they are usually 24-bit, 96khz. A cd is only 16-bit, 44.1khz. -
Buy at Merchshop.de Limited Gold Edition (150x)! Sleeve with special paper, golden print and embossing, handnumbered! Big DIY 6-page booklet, first 50 order will get it signed by the band! From the start, there was something tangibly different about Living With Lions – their trademark dynamics and anthem-esque melody – set them apart in the punk rock community. The sound is something exciting, fresh, and definitively theirs. It's a sound that resonates with the new generation of punk rock fans and the grizzled veterans alike; it appeals to both the most jaded underground hardcore/punk rock fan as well as the fluffiest pop punk fan. It is in every sense accessible, honest, genuine and heart-felt. They wear their influences proudly while cultivating an experience all their own. "Holy Shit" reveals a group of young musicians, songwriters and friends maturing and truly coming into their own on all levels. The album touches on all the hallmarks of good punk rock – angst, frustration, regret, longing and triumph – while staying true to the band's definitive sound. Buy at Merchshop.de

Cool Obscure Vinyl Finds
thesupervillain replied to ripplemusic's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I have tons of weird shit that I haven't even looked at before, nevermind listened to. After working in an office for years, I got pretty tired of the whole thing and looked for a job where I could work outside. I ended up working for one of those Junk Removal companies driving a truck and dropping off waste bins around Toronto. I actually loved it because I spent the majority of my day driving around listening to my own music really loud, and I hardly ever had to get out of the truck since I was just picking up and dropping off bins. Anyways, one job that I went to, a very old guy was cleaning out his garage, and I offered to help him get some of his heavier stuff into the bin. There was a stack of boxes in the corner and when I tried to lift one, it almost fell on me. When I asked him what was in it, he told me they were old records from when he was a teenager, (which I'm guessing was probably the mid-late 40's going by the look of the guy). He had five or six HUGE boxes full of records. I ended up taking them all home with me, because I couldn't bear to see them just go and get destroyed at a dump. There was all kinds of crazy stuff in those boxes, a LOT of European stuff, like Polish Christmas music and weird stuff like that. There was even a 12 LP How To Learn Hebrew set. Some other great stuff I found at that job includes about 50 or 60 LP's that appear to be all gay club music from the late 70's, early 80's that an older gay couple were throwing out. A TON (100 - 125 lp's) of old reggae/soul/blues records, and a huge amount (600 - 700) of your typical classic rock stuff. And I kept it all. Obviously I will never listen to 99% of the stuff that I picked up, but I just couldn't bear to see it all go to waste. Plus, I have some friends who are DJ's/Producers and they are frequently coming by to dig through the stuff I've picked up over the years. -

Yes, but what do you know about vinyl? Kidding. BU is legit. Buy from them, even though this thread sucks. -

Had to put in two orders since it was telling me the Cunter 4 7" was gone. I kept trying and managed to get it to go through. Hey Justin, since I placed two orders that totalled over $100, do I still get the $25 credit? -

New member Here - My Return To Vinyl Story!
thesupervillain replied to joekarlosi's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Sounds like you are most likely an older guy, which is sort of unfortunate for you because as you can see, this board is mostly filled with juvenile man-children. Unless you are really into "punk" bands, I would suggest there are not many people here you are likely to make a connection with. However, I'm sure there are plenty of other message boards out there that might cater more towards someone of your age and tastes. If all the variant crybabies, retards who can't muster enough intelligence to post something other than LULZ and jealous people who complain about how much disposable income other people have that they don't somehow doesn't cause you to run screaming and delete this page from your bookmarks, then welcome. -

Anyone can click that and add money, or "credits". Proboards charges based on pageviews. So for example you pay 7 bucks a month, and you get 50,000 (or whatever) pageviews without ads. Once you hit that limit, the ads start showing up again.

What would a VC Brand New thread be without some dumb fucking posts? Just thought I'd throw another iron into the fire.

Newbie at vinyl. What is a receiver!?

You also might want to make sure that you don't have a USB turntable, which is very possible since you have an ION. -
Nobody has had quality issues with them. DW provides the best vinyl product out there today in my opinion. Their art is top notch (thanks Jake!), they don't go completely insane with colors, their customer service is excellent, and Tre and Jake are on this board constantly. They know what they are doing. I can only dream of a time when other labels have their shit together as much as DW does.

Just bought a Debut 3 to replace this beat up Rega from the 80's I've been using. $318 shipped to Canada is pretty goddamned nice.
