No one's really brought up average song/album length yet. The CD era brought along single albums that were over 60 minutes in length (since the maximum length of a CD is either 74 or 80 minutes). Before CDs, albums were created specifically to the time limitations of vinyl where once you start getting past about 22 minutes/side you start having to make tradeoffs w/r/t fidelity and volume. Therefore, a single 75-minute CD best fits on two LPs. A 60-65 minute album probably best fits on three LP sides.
 
Then there's song length as well. Songs in excess of four minutes are far more common than they used to be. Three six-minute songs and you're at 18 minutes.

Just got back into vinyl a couple of months ago after 30 year absence. Finally got fed up with the compressed sound of digital, so on the advice of my son, I rediscovered the joy of LPs once again. Could not be happier. System is: Uturn Orbit with acrylic platter, Tannoy System 800 speakers with a Yamaha RX-V377 amp.

Just got one on ebay... only $55. I know people have mentioned it can be expensive go get. So if you want one go get it, he has like 10. No association with the seller.

I've heard a rip of the 10,000 days.  Not bad but definitely a bootleg.
I have owned a real Ænima and a boot.  The boot sucked.  Kept 24/96 needledrops of the original, but not the boot.
I'm curious how people like the Lollapalooza boot?   I have cd flac of it and it sounds ace, does the vinyl boot sound any better?  Is the bootleg the edited audio?

Avoid the XX remaster of Rage debut.
Avoid the last Jane's Addiction album on vinyl. In each case it sounds like they've tried to cut the same awful loudness wars CD to vinyl and it sounds worse. Not surprisingly Vlado Meller was the mastering engineer on both. Want RATM? Get the original all analogue US cut or second best would be original UK or Music on Vinyl MOVLP043, some Amazon sellers still have it in stock.

Got mine today. It's opaque red and sounds great. The drums are so powerful.

I contacted Intervention Records and suggested they press this album on vinyl finally. They responded by saying they were beat out by another label for this album. I have to assume someone is finally going to press this, since another label already secured the rights.. Now to try and research what label bought the rights. This at least sounds like progress.

I don't understand why when an album is released they don't just do: a DVD-audio/data disc (or a download) with high-res/no-DRC and a DRC-compressed MP3, and an LP or two.

um yeah i like what he did to Freestyle 4.  And some of the other flourishes.  Once he reinstates the "Taylor might still owe me sex" line, i'll bite and quit pirating it.  It's about integrity Ye.
 
And for fucks sake Ye please make audiophile versions of your albums (i.e. not Loudness war shit...).  Digital 24 bit is probably best for some.  Vinyl is fun, but whatever it takes.
