  1. Just received an in stock notification from plaid room records. Ran through checkout as quickly as possible, here's to hoping they come through without having to cancel.
  2. Of course! And if there's anyone who feels that's a ridiculous thing to do just accuse them of being a bootlicker.
  3. Could you share where you were able to find them?
  4. Ya, again the words and punctuation surrounding the "$5" you saw indicated that was the cost of shipping, not the item. They have since been removed to cut down on confusion. How about $60, plus $5 for shipping. That's a total of $65.
  5. Ya $5 for the shipping, in addition to whatever price is agreed upon.
  6. Right. It's no longer available through the label though without buying the $60 t shirt/bag bundle. This guy says he has like nine left so here it is available for a reasonable price to people like me who missed it on the label site.
  7. Just found it in beige shipped for $24 on ebay.
  8. Took me a while to find one, good luck! Do you have any other Royksopp right now? Just curious.
  9. Just pre-ordered this through Amoeba for $21.23 with their 15% off and free shipping. Code for 15% off is Jan1514
  10. Not sure how much shipping from Hawaii would end up being, but this would be a pretty good deal. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/turntables-pro-ject-speedbox-ii-2013-10-17-analog-96822-honolulu-hi
  11. Elbow released a similar box set last year that I was able to get on Amazon UK for a very good price (I'm pretty sure it was limited to 2000 copies). Here's to hoping that Amazon gets this, if they do it will likely be much cheaper as well.
  12. That would be wonderful. Most likely unfordable though for someone just stepping up from the base level. I suggest that the OP start with the beginners guide to hifi thread, and lurk in the gear forum for a bit to get some pointers. There are already tons of threads addressing that very question: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/88504-beginner%E2%80%99s-guide-to-hi%E2%80%93fi/
  13. No problem. I actually picked up Nowhere on white last month, but unfortunately it is the same low quality pressing I've come to expect from CT. Love the songs on it, but jeez how hard can it be to get better mastering/pressing?
  14. Finally showed up yesterday. Thankfully in good condition and the order was correct. Sure it took about a month, but whatever, you can't expect perfection from Captured Tracks. When I ordered the Empty Estate special edition I noticed that they had the Shadow 7'' back in stock (and still do). I was surprised to find that the one they sent me was the limited edition blue version, even though it wasn't listed as such on the site. By some fluke it also happens to be the best sounding pressing of anything that I have gotten from Captured Tracks. No surface noise, totally worthy of headphone listening. This is the only thing I have from them that doesn't say something like "Bonati Mastering" in the runout, perhaps that has something to do with it. Such a shame that everything else they have made is so sub par sound quality wise.
  15. Thanks for the report. Did you have a tracking # and did it ever update beyond "electronic shipping info received"? Mine still says nothing useful.
  16. Kannibal, no one who has commented on this thread is actually interested in this as something to buy for themselves, just like you aren't. What we are all interested in is a company who makes serious turntables bringing their knowledge and supply chain/manufacturing capabilities to bear on the problem of producing a decent budget turntable. Not decent for people like you or me who are serious enough to warrant at least a Carbon or RP3, but decent for people who are starting from scratch and can afford nothing more than $200 for this component. It's interesting because it's cheap enough that we might be able to sway beginners away from the Crossley's and ATLP60's that plague us all. How good it works and sounds is yet to be seen, but if it is able to not ruin records and sound decent then this is a victory for everyone. Whenever people show up and start "what table for $200" threads it's difficult to recommend anything new in that price range. If this is passable we now have a quick solution.
