  1. I finally received mine today too. No download code.
  2. On the front forum page, I just saw the part that said, "No downoad card in the..." and I thought to myself, probably a P+P release. I got no download card in my Coffee Project order. My Foundation order is something like 4 months late and I still haven't received it so I'm pretty annoyed with P+P whether I get the download card or not. As much as I love the music this label is putting out, I'm not going to give them my business as generously as I originally thought I would.
  3. Nigiri is a piece of fish on a piece of rice. Straight up fish is sashimi. But it can be other things too. I love beef sashimi. It's raw/seared I think. I'm a nigiri enthusiast myself. Favourites are saba (mackerel) and hamachi (yellowtail). Anything involving tuna is always great too, and BBQ eel is up there too.
  4. Looks so good... I wish I held off and bought the second press instead of the first.
  5. Fear Before the March of Flames: The Always Open Mouth?
  6. Wow. Looks like I'm about to get pretty acquainted with the entire Magic Bullet roster...
  7. A pretty good deal for the buyer. To me, this is Some Girls' best material, but I have a big reluctance to shell out big money for just a 7". $10 is pretty fair.
  8. I liked this: "I personally don't know, but natural selection seems to be the only thing people go on. It should be more open," he says. "There are sometimes better explanations for things, I mean people thought the earth was flat." I never thought a creationist would use the "people used to think the world was flat" argument to assert even more absurd religious dogma. It was so hard not to make cracks at creationism when I was teaching Grade 12 Geography for a few weeks. We looked at the unique species of animals in places like Australia and Madagascar and discussed how those places have animals unlike anywhere else in the world because the islands broke off from other continents so long ago they followed their own evolutionary path. I guess the other option is Noah had them all on his boat and conveniently redistributed them to their unique locales.
  9. Loving this stream... Really makes me wish the Kid Dynamite records will get repressed one day. If No Idea could snag the Lifetime rights from Jade Tree, maybe they could pull off the Kid Dynamite rights too.
  10. I look forward to this new issue. I've been a fan of AP for a few years now. In one sense, I get addicted to my collecting and my stack of uninterrupted AP mags is getting pretty high. But in spite of all the shitty bands covered, I typically find one new band I like every month. In the reviews, in the AP recommends, or in the top 10 at the back. I also like to stay somewhat in touch with new music, even if I hate most of what the kids like these days. I think it's pretty clear that there's lots of guys at AP with good music taste and sense, and that comes through in a lot of articles and features. I can't complain too much about a magazine that had Gaslight Anthem on the cover and has frequent VC plugs. So no AP hate from me. +1 for Scott.
  11. I've been waiting for my Foundation for pretty much ever too. I'm starting to doubt I will ever see it. Every time I email VC I am told it's coming soon.
  12. I figured Thorp shut down it's been so long since I heard their name around.
  13. I've got hit by customs and duties on Interpunk orders in the past. I avoid them at all costs now.
  14. I'm sure a message board posting will put an end to this new meme.
  15. I'd answer, but I'm frozen on the questions about what hipsters and scenesters think.
  16. I'd go back to the 1970s to set off a bomb that would prevent the present from ever having happened.
  17. Indestructible is nowhere near being my favourite Rancid album, but I think it's still way way better than this. It has a few great songs that would probably make the cut if I had to compile my top 15-20 Rancid songs. I don't think the new album has anything on the level of their previous albums. There's nothing anywhere near as catchy as Out Come the Wolves. There's nothing with the fury of the 2000 s/t album. There's nothing with anything close to the Jamaican vibe of Life Won't Wait. And there's nothing with the street punk grit of Let's Go. Tim Armstrong needs to go back to duets with teen pop singers and shitty faux gangster rap. Even that's a step above this album.
  18. I've been a pretty huge Rancid for most of my life (mainly the Out Come the Wolves era) and I'm pretty convinced after listening to the first half that this is by far the worst Rancid album. It sounds very uninspired. Rancid songs usually have some meaning behind them, but these all just sound like running through the motions. Kind of like a lot of the shitty Rancid ripoff bands on Hellcat and elsewhere.
  19. So there's no LP here, just a 7"? Lame. But based on the first single I'm not sure how stoked I am. "Breaking You Down" has a very American Idol-esque chorus. But I love Chamberlain so I'll probably pick it up anyway if and when it gets a full LP pressing.
  20. Either that or the dude is going to get laid, like, once or a couple times tops. Or the girl is going to conveniently reverse her "no birth control" stance pretty quick.
