  1. Leatherface / Frankie Stubbs post:

didn’t see this mentioned but RadGirlfriend Records is helping to release the Jesse discography (it seems to be selling out almost everywhere but RevHQ has a bunch up at the moment) Jesse was Stubbs’ band during the first Leatherface breakup in 1994. Really good stuff, reminds me a lot of Jawbreaker.

    Physical:

It was harder back then to determine who was more popular and growing steam because the internet was still rudimentary at best. I feel like I based it on my friend group at the time and what was more popular with us.  I don't think I ever got to see them but I definitely picked up Capillary Lockdown and a single or two at my local record store at the time though.

The bass tone on that record is so fucking good!

  4. Besides Infinite Granite, Sunbather is the only album of theirs I 100% get behind. It's so effing good. When they were first gaining notoriety upon it's release, I kind of fell in with the collective opinions of my friends who were "too kvlt to listen to Deafheaven" and how it was "Pitchfork metal", etc, etc.

Then one day on my Tumblr feed I saw this meme, and found out it was a quote from Sunbather, so I HAD to give it a listen. Honestly, fuck my friends opinions on that one hahaha.

bought the fuck out of that!  I can't believe the other variants are still available unless they did 1,000 of them or something.

I'm thankful it hasn't sold out yet. I love the music so much but want to try and combine shipping with something else they'll inevitably drop that I want. (Boilermaker / Universal Order Of Armageddon / the next Hated installment, etc) Here's to hoping it stays in stock for a few more days

I think the most important thing to talk about is how Chris Johnson is the most crucial member of the band now.  His basslines bring character to the songs in a way that wasn't there on any song beforehand.

Him and I chat on IG a bit, he's super cool.  We talk about gear and the music, and it's so funny, because we were watching the 2022 Outbreak fest show that he mixed, and they're playing Honeycomb and him and Kerry both do some different stuff in it, and I brought that up to him and he's like "oh yeah we never play the songs the same way, that's boring."  He has some clear bass fills in the shoegaze outro that are noticeably different, and they sound great.

Its things like that that make me love the band even more than I did before.  Typically, big metal bands are pretty rigid and don't change setlists or don't let the music live and breathe, but seeing stuff like that happen where they're kind of jamming and in the moment is just so beautiful.

That all being said, I'm very excited to hear what theyve been cooking up.  If you listen to the Worthless Animal and Honeycomb Audio tree videos from 2019, that bit at the start... that's them jamming.  100% improvised.  He said the Audiotree people were like "Hey we need some intro music, just jam a bit" and they came up with that haha and it sounds SO good.

Me and Chris both went to school together for audio engineering. It’s awesome to see a fellow classmate doing something really cool with their degree. He’s such a genuine person and I have nothing but positive stuff to say about him 😎

Correct me if I'm wrong but that album was never pressed to vinyl. Also this album rips so hard. I love it.

I don’t think any of their releases have been. Honestly I’ve always preferred the Number One Beautiful EP sans that one song title that doesn’t really hold up haha but both those releases are on constant repeat when they were first released

    Holy fucking shit

They mentioned it at the show last night and said there was a QR code at their merch table to pre-order it (I saw no QR code)

this might an “if you know, you know” kind of release since it’s being self-released and there’s been zero mention thus far online

  9. The iconic album "10.21" by Skycamefalling, making its debut on vinyl. Mastered by Will Putney and remixed by Chris Bittner at Applehead Studios, this self-released edition features re-recorded guitars and additional elements, accompanied by the distinctive artwork of Jon Contino. A collector's gem, "10.21" on vinyl delivers a fresh, immersive experience in a gatefold packaging, inviting listeners to rediscover the emotive power of Skycamefalling's music.
