  1. Weekend Dig - all early or original pressings with the exception of Caravan and Coltrane ('72 press) - Archie Shepp - Yasmina, A Black Woman (mint - the gem of the pull) - Monk - Straight, No Chaser - Monk - It's Monk's Time - Monk - Monk's Dream - Monk - Underground (one of my all-time fav album covers) - Coltrane - S/T (Impulse) - Red Garland - Alone With The Blues (huge fan of Garland if you haven't taken a dive there) - Blakey - Caravan (2014 pressing - $5 can't go wrong)
  2. I'd post a photo or something but this board makes it as hard as possible to do so and I hate feeling old...so I won't try.
  3. Propagandhi arrived today - fast as can be. I'm still looking for a copy of the recent Utters reissue.
  4. Took a flier on a couple Horace Silver LPs today for $30. "Searching for the 27th Man" "Silver's Serenade" The Serenade is a legit first pressing in VG+ condition - deep groove in side one. I won on that flier - I knew the condition was good and I couldn't even get a repress of either at those prices, so too a shot and scored.
  5. Just got A.Trio for 34ppd on Discogs. It looks like copies of all releases are trickling there from retail sellers.
  6. I have a hunch that Engine Kid will be had at a lower price when it all settles. I bought Sigh and Monk at Zia. I'm good.
  7. Anyone pick up the Engine Kid box? Curious if it is worth tracking down. I'm intrigued but not sold, so looking for opinions.
  8. Nice. After missing Swingin Utters, I'm glad to be in on this one.
  9. $350. I've been trying to get the 2xLP at a reasonable price but haven't yet. It's out there and with patience, I will. Two weeks ago I went to a flea market and pulled a first pressing of Pharoah Sanders "Karma" and Mahavishnu Orchestra's first lp. The sanders is a nice VG+, the sort of pull you dream of when crate digging.
  10. I was intrigued for a minute by the Lee Morgan Live at the Lighthouse box set. Honestly, I wish they'd just repress the original 2xLP. https://www.bluenote.com/lee-morgan-the-complete-live-at-the-lighthouse-out-july-30/
  11. Shoot. I was in a meeting and missed this. If anyone has an extra - I can make a trade or pay. I'd like this one. Hit me up.
  12. I have some serious classics in my collection - those I spin frequently. For the rest, I am too busy to be flipping that regularly. I think you convinced me to pass on this.
  13. Pretty much. I've been thinking of purging 90% of my 7"s. But I think I'll end up biting on this one.
  14. Today's pull - $18 - pretty damn pleased. Miles Davis - "Sketches of Spain" six-eye first press mono - cover is beat (G), vinyl has marks but plays clean a very good VG. Herbie Hancock "Secrets" - The tail end of my favorite of his funk-jazz albums Cannonball Adderley Sextet - Live at the SF Jazz Workshop - first stereo press VG+/VG+. It's a great record, love the spots where he's introducing songs. Miles Davis "Ghetto..." - Not as exciting as the other pickups. Guess this was the RSD release. Nice copy. No complaints for a few bucks.
  15. Bad Astronaut just showed. I think I'm all caught up now on things I've ordered now.
  16. Anyone have a good site to recommend to identify in-the-weeds pressings? I have a couple that make no sense and I'm just curious to figure it out. Not losing any sleep over this stuff but it would be nice to get turned on to a new site beyond discogs.
  17. Hey - did anyone miss the release day version of Single Album on green vinyl? I didn't recall ordering it. I did. My cost + shipping. Nothing more, nothing less. Send a message if interested. Also, with the rate of releases it feels odd that something hasn't gone up for PO in the past few weeks. (Got shipping notice on Bad Astronaut though)
  18. Forgot I hadn't paused my vault and got "Live at the Masonic Temple" yesterday. I plan to give it a go - it's beautiful set. Even when I don't want something from the subscription, they always make me think twice about letting it go because they are so damn well done. My local, which isn't open on Tuesdays, had a colored sleep this morning. Grabbed it. Pricey but another nice release. You can't mess with TMR quality.
  19. Bump - cut a deal on Direct Hit lps. Also looking for the most recent MakeWar on color.
  20. Gonna give this a bump. Still looking. I'm also looking for a couple Direct Hit lps.
  21. The players on that album tell me it's worthwhile. Shorter is glue. I'm not that knowledgable but in my limited experience, Jones is my favorite drummer after Blakey. I really like Asante - it is different, it's surprising. This track is terrific. I'll have to look for a copy.
  22. The upcoming Mobley reissue is essential. Looking forward to it. I slept on the Grant Green "Nigeria" Tone Poet. I'd love to find a trade on that one. I came into a copy of "Solid" not long ago. Best $10 I've spent on a piece of vinyl in months. I really liked the Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" rsd collection and am looking forward to the Jack Johnson collection coming in July. I spent a lot of time with jazz during covid. Found my way into a few cool albums (Any of you ever listened to McCoy Tyner's "Asante" - a pal pulled it for me and it just shows the depth of what is out there in the genre). Bought part of a collection and regretted not taking more. Anyway, Jazz gave me a lot of joy and got me a bit more engaged with collecting on all aspects of my collection.
  23. Question: The XX companion looks cool - think they'll do a straight anniversary pressing of the actual album? I was on hiatus from buying when the last XX came out.
  24. Funny, this is my favorite list in a while. Looking for Ihsahn, Sigh, The Miles Davis Jack Johnson outtake (they killed it with the Bitches Brew release), and I'll be in for that Fear reissue since my copy is ready to give up the ghost.
