PO:Murder By Death Box Set
macpsu replied to malestudent15's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I was expecting the worst but luckily my box set arrived in one piece. Awful packaging job for such a delicate thing. The only blemish in my set is that the coating on the jacket for the LJG/VDM split is peeling pretty badly. -

Thanks for the input. After some more extensive research, I'm pretty sure I've decided on the LP120. Which cartridge do you recommend? -
I'm looking for either the white or black Minus the Bear slipmats that were offered up a while ago. Please PM me with a price if you've got one!

Official "Help Me Choose a Turntable" v.2.0 Thread
macpsu replied to jhulud's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
I just started collecting vinyl and am looking for something decent to listen to them on, aside from my parents' old system. I don't have much of a budget for this at the moment, so I'm looking to spend $150-200 max on a turntable with plans to hook it up to my existing home theater system. I've been checking out the lower end Audio Technicas and Sonys, and came across some good reviews on the lower-model Stantons as well. I was hoping to get some input as to what i should stay away from, or suggestions on something I haven't yet come across. I'd prefer a unit with a USB port. I'm not going to be doing any scratching; with that being said, is there any reason for me to get a direct drive over belt-driven? My original plan was to pick up one of the $75-100 turntables from Audio Technica or Sony, but I can't justify buying something cheap if it's going to potentially scratch my collection or have poor audio quality. Any advice is appreciated. -
How did you find Vinyl Collective?

I'm a big Minus the Bear fan and recently started collecting their vinyl, along with some of my other favorite bands'. Came across VC not too long ago and finally signed up today.
