I have no idea on how old the stylus is, it sounds fine when I played it on one of my records. The seller on eBay hadn't tested it before I purchased it so I'd feel a bit better by replacing it for the peace of mind.

I'd be willing to spend $120 at the most so if anyone has any suggestions for a good cartridge that isn't going to break the bank I'm all ears.

Hello everyone, thanks for clicking on my post. I'm quite new to records as I've recently bought an SL-6 off of eBay that seems to be in pretty good shape, even the plastic lid looks good. It has an Ortofon TM-14 on it, which I believe is an aftermarket cartridge if I did my research correctly. Is it worth replacing the stylus with the one off of LP Gear, or should I get the Audio Technica T4P cartridge because the TM-14 is worse? Thank you to whoever answers, you're awesome!
