  1. One-21 The Stryder Both are no more but never got the credit they truly deserved for being so unique (especially the final albums the put out).
  2. In 1999 I picked up a 7" at one-21's merch table and asked the guy "what's this?" and he said "it's a vinyl record". And I was so stoked that current bands were putting out vinyl. It was One-21 "JxIxSx" on Sofa Records. Still one of my favorite 7"s and bands.
  3. SPUDZ! adopted this super rad dude from the humane association. He's gotten me no ladies yet but he's still my broseph. He's a rat terrier (I love picture threads)
  4. Man, that show used to get me so pumped as a kid. I was always like "I can so do this!" My favorite was when they put them in the hamster ball things.
  5. I was driving home from a friend's house around 1 am and at the corner of an intersection parked next to a chinese restaurant was a car on fire. Straight up burning like someone drenched the whole thing in kerosene. No one around either. So this is basically the "crazy stories from home" thread
  6. I was actually in Philly on the saturday that this was going on and caught up with some friends who had been going in and out all weekend. They wanted me to come along but I guess I've been out of the hardcore game too long cause I don't know 80% of the line up.
  7. No way! Does he get free sauce for life? I would've taken that instead of money. Ha ha, no, that was the first thing I asked when he told me. He did bring a bunch back with him when he was visiting and took pictures of me eating to see if it would fit in with what he was doing. Unfortunatley my sloppy face isn't on the site.
  8. Dude, Yes, this stuff is the best. Fun Fact: my brother designed their website
  9. A lot of people on this board are really into Alkaline Trio and Against Me! I have absolutley no interest in either.
  10. what was your first punk show? (or metal, whatever you're into) Mine was: Sometime in 1998 @ a VFW hall in Kennet Square, PA Bands were: One-21 The Looktrick Gransane Bob
  11. VC's sleeves aren't a bad deal, every record store I go to sell their 12" sleeves for $0.30 each. But for your big bulk orders some place like bags unlimited would be better.
  12. I hear ya on the leeching off someone's wireless, thats how you get free internet at college
  13. I can't stand Marylin Manson but his take on KKK took my baby away on the "we're a happy family" cd was really interesting. They made it so dark, and really put sort of the right spin on it, I mean come on, if the KKK really kidnapped your girlfriend and you never saw her again, would you write a song about it that you can dance to? Also on that same CD "Havana Affair" done by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is amazing.
  14. Yeah, there's nothing like living with all your friends. At my school you can't miss a party, so there's always that. We have a great radio station that I used to have a few shows on, and during my 4 years the guy/girl booking the bands for the cafe/stage in the student union always brought in great indie/punk/hardcore bands. Even though I feel it's time for me to be outta there, i'm gonna miss all that stuff.
  15. I agree, as lame as it may have been I wore earplugs to most of the shows I went to in high school, especially the ones I played. When you're talking about a room in a VFW hall where everything is turned up as loud as possible to be able to mix with the drums you're definetly doing a lot of damage. It's nothing like going to shows with real sound equipment and engineering.
  16. A while ago (maybe 1999) The Huntingtons released a Ramones cover album entitled "File under Ramones". And as much as I love the Huntingtons along with other pogo-punk ramones rip offs like the Riverdales and the Queers, on this record they basically made it EXACTLY like the Ramones. If you heard this thing, you'd have a hard time believing me that it wasn't the Ramones. I mean come on, all those pogo bands love the Ramones but at least they retain their slight originality when covering them. I was pissed. I guess they titled it right though, I sure as hell wouldn't file that shit under Huntingtons.
  17. I should have graduated this past spring but am going back for 1 semester because I was 6 credits behind. I'm feeling really strange about it because I have to move into an apartment with a bunch of guys I don't know. I've been living with my friends since freshman year and due to a recently installed wet-blanket by the school, one semester seniors can only live with other one semester seniors. This is good for the college because after the fall a whole apartment clears out with no stragglers, but not for me who wanted to live with his lower-classmen buddies. I don't mind living with people I don't know, its just that it feels like i'm a freshman again at 22 moving in with new roommates. Definetly a weird feeling. Edit: waoh, this post is 203 for me which was my freshman dorm room number, wild
  18. My girlfriend just has to understand I like vinyl. I had a girlfriend in high school who understood this simple fact and bought me records on many occassions. This worked out well for her because she was able to make me real happy and it cost her almost nothing. Girls before and after never got it and would spend lots of money trying to impress me. I'm the happiest dude if you spend $4 on a 7" for me. And maybe later she could see my 12" (had to say it)
  19. I love christmas song covers (and originals too). My favorite being: Which contains "The First Noel" a cover of Low's "Long way around the sea"
  20. ^^^^^^^^^^ more big lebowski quotes, I love it, anytime me or my buddies get upset/angry we always use "calmer than you are"
  21. Taco Bell for me is like Chinese food. After about 10 minutes I want more. MSG'd!!
  22. How are you listening to your records? Someone posted a thread awhile back on the other board about what kind of table you use, but just as important are what kind of speakers/headphones you actually get the sound with. My brother is a media designer at Bose and hooked me up with these. They're nothing short of amazing.
  23. Still working on the Huntingtons and just recently decided to start working on mxpx
  24. I heard somewhere that when they released "Vitology" they released it on vinyl only but then buckled under pressure by the label....?
