  1. Here's an article I found. http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/2007-02-21-vinyl-usat_x.htm "But vinyl still accounts for a small percentage of music sales. Last year 858,000 LPs were sold, compared with 553.4 million CDs, according to Nielsen SoundScan. While the 2006 figure was up slightly from 2005, the overall trend has been down from 1.5 million in 2000. Ashworth believes the data are skewed, though, because a lot of vinyl is sold in mom and pop stores not reflected in the SoundScan numbers." In my opinion, thats not enough sales for a major chain to pick up on vinyl. I'm still surprised Hot Topic sells it. The only chain I've ever seen carry vinyl was Tower in Philadelphia and it was mostly hip-hop (which I'm sure is the genre that makes up the 2006 figure) Does Vinyl Collective post with SoundScan? Interpunk? That could make a huge difference in the numbers.
  2. yeah, how come I never heard of any of their stuff hitting vinyl? I'd love to snag a copy
  3. Happy Birthday, hope it's the kind of fun that you dial your own drunk hotline
  4. I'm the same way, I almost never download... and if you're band can't win me over in 3 songs (which is more or less the length of a 7") then why would I want to download your whole freakin' album? I remember when the only way to discover new bands was if a friend told you about it or if you bought a comp. I miss those days.
  5. I don't even think I've seen anyone on this board ever post anything worth smiting. Scott, here's some karma for your "The dude abides" quote. I love that movie. "Dude, you're being very undude"
  6. Not to change the subject, but in high school a friend of mine said there was an American Nightmare (give up the ghost) 7" that was actually blood splattered. Just wondering if there is any truth behind this kind of stuff.
  7. Just saw this one last night, JD is dating Juli (Mandy Moore) and they didn't have time for morning sex so they were banging on the wall and making noises for Elliot to hear: Juli: Take it you bitch! JD: Pull my hair weeeeeeeeee!
  8. bought verydistro.com's last copy a month ago
  9. hey altersofradness, where in DE are you from?
  10. Nothing could make me happier, especially since there are so many I forget about. Go nuts.
  11. Currently, my favorite is from the last episode of the new season: Dr. Kelso "Dorian, Tell your baby mama she can have her job back, and by the way, I thinks its hillarious that you're trusting her again" JD: "I know sir, I got your email" I'm starting a Scrubs thread on the other board.
  12. dude, i was just watching the episode "my karma" last night when JD and Turk golf off of the hospital roof, weird. I love how that show is so full of one liners. My favorite from that episode being: Dr. Kelso makes Dr. Cox curtsy to get a favor, afterwards Dr. Kelso says: "always remember how I made you do that"
  13. I agree with loren, about 8 months ago I picked up a pretty cool cell phone/pda that has video/mp3/photo/web etc. It was exciting at first but just like with everything, it gets old, I now treat that thing like a regular cell phone and am completely unimpressed by it's wide variety of features. I bought a 1 gb card for it, put a bunch of music on it, and listened to it maybe a couple times. In my opinion, you gotta keep 'em seperated [insert offspring riff here] Also, all apple 1st generation stuff sucks anyway side note: anyone else hear about the Philadelphia mayor waiting in line for one and then leaving after enduring insults by his fellow citizens? or is that just a rumor?
  14. Man, everyone's got beards, all I can grow is one of those gotees that can't connect bottom to top. Although my confidence has been restored thanks to Donal Faison who's been sporting one the past couple seasons of Scrubs. Thanks Don, from all of us.
  15. Might be hard to learn with all that beast and vodka
  16. Primarily Guitar - Epiphone G-310 - Sunn Head and Cabinet circa mid 1970's Bass - Dean Playmate EAB Acoustic-Electric Bass Drums - some no name kit my brother bought in high school, tama snare, sabian cymbals. Drum Machine - Alesis SR - 16 - not really an instrument but it was hardwork learning how to program it to do anything you want so I'll count it. I recomend buying and learning if you record on your own. I can also play keyboard, I'm not a pianist or anything but I know what I'm doing. I have an old vintage synth I bought off a friends dad, the name escapes me but it looks really cool.
  17. I sold a Brand New cd for $200 a month ago, not sure why anyone wants a cd that bad but I'm in no way complaining.
