  1. "Longer" and "concise" are essentially antonyms. My mistake. It was late, I was sleepy and brain dead from doing mail order packing. Swap concise for thorough.
  2. Beautiful packaging. Looks like the label put a lot of effort into. Wish I had enough cash to grab it.
  3. The Kickstarter should provide a longer, more concise description. The more well thought out the proposal is, the more likely people are to pledge. I think Magic Bullet has kind of cornered the market on Charles Manson records. Haven't bought any of the Manson releases, but MB makes great records. Very classy, high quality.
  4. Sure. I did the 180 gram, with the gatefold and the liner notes to make it a bit worthwhile; I want people to get their money's worth. Maybe it sounds a bit crazy because of the extra costs, but I appreciate that kind of attention as a collector. Here's the crude breakdown expenses for two releases. $3950 for 2000 gatefold jackets $1932 for 2000 8-panel liner notes $2000 for master use $1100 for remastering of analog reels $1070 lacquers and plating (plant required extra plates for the heavy vinyl) $8600 for the 180 gram vinyl I knew how much it would cost the whole time. I don't think I would have hit my Kickstarter goal if I set it for $18k. At least the goal I set could get me started and I figured out the rest. Either way, it's done and I'm working on fulfilling every order. And I will still be donating 100% the profits to Water.Org, despite these financial troubles I've encountered.
  5. Grabbed the new Saves the Day and Horrible Crowes from them online. I'm staying at my dad's for awhile and there aren't any indie stores for at least an hour's drive. Seems like a good opportunity to help out.
  6. First thing, that cat is awesome. Second thing, as you ordered both releases, you know I have two releases. I don't have an only release. Sounds condescending. I appreciate your order, but don't insult someone if you're asking for a favor. I'm mailing out all of the Kickstarter records first. I've still got about a 100 to go, and I've been delayed a couple of days waiting for a shipment of plastic sleeves (that I ordered about two weeks ago) . They arrive tomorrow and I will probably get your order out within the next two days. If you can wait until then, you'll get a shipping notification shortly. As far as a re-order, I could refund your money via Paypal, and you can re-order via Limited Pressing. Limited Pressing doesn't have a way to cancel orders, as far as I've noticed. I'm emailing them about that so it doesn't mess up my inventories. PM me later, and we'll see what we can do.
  7. By using Limited Pressing you have the ability to send an email with the delivery confirmation number every time you mark an order as shipped. Continue being sketchy though. It's fun. Yeah, I intend to through limited pressing. But that was a question about the Kickstarter records. Kickstarter doesn't have a shipping confirmation option. Continue being an asshole, though. Seems sad.
  8. About half of the Kickstarter orders have been shipped, but I haven't sent out notices for shipments. But from what people are saying, I should definitely start doing that. If you want to pm me your name, I can check on your order personally and let you know.
  9. She might. She's a damn fine woman. Been together seven years, worked on dozens of projects together. But you seem like a bitter person. Even if I don't do anymore records after LOLM, at least I've got her. And she'll stand by me because I've stood by her, under similar circumstances.
  10. Fuck you too, man. I've supported the vinyl community, artists and labels for over a decade. Even if no one cares, I've got a right to promote as much as you do.
  11. To celebrate their first two releases, the Overdue Collection Agency is offering a 10% discount code in their store at http://overduecollection.limitedpressing.com. The discount is valid until October 1st and the code is: October. The label is celebrating the releases the first two Gatsbys American Dream records on vinyl, Why We Fight and Ribbons & Sugar, which are currently shipping. All color variations are now available
  12. There have been delays in remastering that aren't related to a lack of funds, but because of the schedule of the engineer. I can't help that. The records will be on their to lacquer mastering next Tuesday (which will take less than a week), then off two the plant. I'd say they're a week and half away from the actual pressing if there are no delays from the plant. I have enough to get everything pressed, which was the intention of my Kickstarter goal. These releases (multiple releases) are going to happen, no matter what. I got an extra job just so an entire paycheck could go to fund the jackets and booklets. That's extremely greedy of me. You can go ahead and donate to Water.Org. I would fully support that. It's an extremely worthy cause. If you feel it's better than buying the record, please do. They need as much assistance as they can get. I'm sorry if you feel that it is too expensive, but I hope that the final quality of the releases will show you that it is worthy of the money you are spending. The record is a donating incentive. This isn't greed. I'm not keeping any money here. This is a 100% volunteer organization. I'm just doing this because I'm passionate about the music and decided (as a record collector myself) that this would be a good way to help a charitable cause.
  13. I expect these to ship in two months or less. I'm sending the master for lacquering next week, then it's off to the plant. Still selling a ton of my personal belongings to pay for the jackets and the booklets, but it will be very worth it to see these pressed. The $18 price tag is simply to raise more for charity. The more money we donate, the more we can help Water.Org and their cause. Paying a little extra for a high-quality release so that significantly more people can drink clean water is a fair trade-off.
  14. And to think, these high prices all just for some sick, depraved charitable cause chosen by Gatsbys. Oh yeah, the rarer colors are now available for pre-order. http://overduecollection.limitedpressing.com
  15. Respectfully, no. And here is why: I have sold 13 subscriptions (12 shown on the kickstarter, and then someone who pledged a bit more to get a test press along with their subscription) Those 13 people have been generous enough to pledge $160 for 10 records (which is a great deal for the quality). I'm don't plan on throwing those supporters under the bus by letting those go without a subscription. They will stay exclusive, even if they sell slowly or if I have to sell them as pre-bundled subscriptions. Their money is going to the artist charity 10 times over, which I will pay out of my own pocket if I have to. That's a pretty rad thing for someone to do, even if they are getting something in return. I plan on respecting those pledgers.
  16. Thanks! That's what I was thinking too. Helps me feel less selfish about collecting records knowing they're going to a good cause. As far as other bands, nothing is set in stone just yet. I'd love to do Volcano and the Self-Titled as well for Gatsbys, but Fearless doesn't seem very receptive. Either way, I need to focus on finishing up these first three records.
  17. I'm still working on that prospect, and I will announce any updates on that asap. (Hint: They will probably be from the same state. That's a vague hint though.) But if you choose to subscribe, 9 of the 10 LP's will be Gatsbys variants. Very cool stuff. I'm trying to make sure the next artist we work with would fit with that kind of collection.
  18. As far as when this ships, I'm working really hard on getting everything ready as much as possible before hand. Once I receive the Kickstarter funds from the website, it shouldn't be more than 7-8 weeks. I will keep people updated on the process as much as possible. Other than the Kickstarter updates, I post on tumblr (overduecollection.tumblr.com) and twitter (overduecollect). I've funded the mastering, and I'm sending that off for lacquer mastering soon. I'm finishing up the jackets sometime this week or next. Finishing up the booklet last, because I'm conducting an interview with the band, and we're still trying to figure out schedules. It's a lot of work, but I'm really excited about the final product. It's going to be a really great set of records, and I sincerely appreciate the support. Thanks so much, thewmatic!
  19. Hey Guys, This is my first post here, but I've been following the board for a while without becoming a member. I started pre-orders about a month ago via Kickstarter for the first two Gatsbys American Dream records on vinyl: Why We Fight and Ribbons and Sugar. 100% of the profits are going to a charity that Gatsbys has chosen, which is Water.org. Each record will have 3 colorways each (including an exclusive subscriber color), and will be on 180 gram, color vinyl with gatefold jackets. We've reached our goal, but the more we sell, the more we can donate to the band's chosen charity. I've also set a goal if we hit the $10K milestone: a full video set from Gatsbys 2003 record release show for Ribbons and Sugar they play the whole album (minus "The Horse You Rode In On") front to back. I have also lined up the rights to release their EP "In the Land Of Lost Monsters", but I haven't started pre-orders for that just yet. If you pledge, you will also get updates about this new record. If you are a completest, like myself, you'll want every color. That is why we are offering a 10 record subscription, which includes a subscriber exclusive color. For more details, please check out the Kickstarter. If there is any questions you guys have that isn't answered by the kickstarter, I'll keep an eye on the post to make sure I can help. Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/overduecollection/press-gatsbys-american-dream-on-vinyl Thanks so much for checking it out!
