I've only listened to it once the whole way and once kind of flipping through. It's good, I can say that. Not as "fun" as their other albums but feels very cohesive and polished. It will probably take a few more listens before I can really say I like it though!

Yeah, I love this band to death but I'd have to agree. It's one of the reasons why I like Sink or Swim and The 59 Sound a bit more than American Slang. It's like, I remember hearing Great Expectations and really liking the lines "And they burnt up the diner where I always used to find her...her hair was raven and her heart was like a tomb" and thinking that was cool, but then hearing "like a tomb" on two more songs. Ehhh. For some reason, like I said, I don't mind it on SOS or T59S, but the song writing is a bit weaker on AS so it sounds kinda cheap.

To Record Only Water is my favorite album of all time...I'd kill to have this pressed! And Shadows Collide is probably my Holy Grail of vinyl...they're not terribly hard to come by, but I just can't spend what they go for. Perhaps one day. I love that album.

Yes! Saw this yesterday on Invisible Movement as well. So excited! And yeah, RC definitely needs to repress some old John stuff, The Empyrean is the only album of his on vinyl that I own

John is probably my favorite musician ever. The 5 albums he did with RHCP are definitely their best. I love Josh too, but he's still finding his place. I'm really hoping that I'm With You is like Mother's Milk. Josh is still trying to find his footing, like John was on that album, and perhaps their next album will be amazing. One can hope! Yeah, it kind of pisses me off when people say stuff like "Lolz do people actually like this band?" Yup, I do. They're insanely talented musicians who have consistently written and produced great music for the last 30 years.

Good to hear! I liked American Slang but didn't love it like I loved Sink or Swim and 59 Sound. It's only been 2 years since AS but I feel like it's been forever...so excited for new music! omgomgomgomg.
