The world was a pretty different place in 1900. America was being developed, the industrial revolution was in full swing, and we needed labor. Now that we are a developed country for the most part, there isn't a need for an indefinite amount of labor. We actually need to go in the other direction or we are going to destroy the planet -- produce less, consume less, and do things in a smarter, more environmentally friendly way. The skills the illegal immigrants bring don't help us in this direction. The legal ones frequently do, though.

Got into a big fight with my gf of a year tonight. Trying not to overreact but we may not be able to fix this one. Don't think I'm gonna get a lot of sleep tonight. I'm really happy with her 99% of the time. She has another side that comes out the other 1% though that is really sassy and aggressive. It's not always alcohol related but that promotes it. Despite me sometimes voicing strong opinions on here and not being afraid to call people out, in real life I try and stay mostly mellow, positive, and avoid conflict. Occasionally she would say things to friends and family that would make me cringe a little bit but for the most part I'd just try and quash it instead of really addressing it. It wasn't until someone kinda had a talk with me and pointed out the problem that it really started to grow into something I felt like I had to call her out on. That happened tonight. I'd like to give her a chance to work on this. No one is perfect (including me) and if you admit a problem and work on it, things can get better. There's still a part of me, though, that thinks this is just part of who she is. She may be able to keep it under wraps in the short term but if we end up married later on, it would eventually come out again. And where it's going to eventually end up is having a wife that has a contentious relationship with my friends and/or family. That's not what I want. For right now, just trying not to overreact and take a step back to reevaluate.

Watched Spotlight. It was fine but not best pic in my opinion. Very flat movie. No really powerful villain, no twist, no action. Just a bunch of reporters slowly uncovering a story and then writing it.

You can also basically build a home gym for zero cost if you buy the stuff off craigslist so that someone else has already taken the 50% hit off retail. You'll eventually get almost all your money back when you sell it down the line. I love working out at home. No waiting, I can watch my weekly tv shows, listen to records, no one else's sweat on the equipment, etc. I can see it not being possible for someone in a small apartment but otherwise, you don't need much space for a power rack, bench, and some barbells.

Losing weight is going to be the best thing for your sciatica. You also don't need to be incredibly active. Far more import to eat right. You can easily throw an entire hour at the gym away with 1 cheeseburger.

I could understand this for teaser trailers but there's no way they are still messing with the basic look of the suit 2 months before the release. That is basically what it is going to look like.

Seems like a lot of people really into this game hype the crap out of a few weapons and then they don't really make a drastic difference over others. But sleeper sim...holy shit that gun is awesome. Can't wait to infuse it as well.

I go through a pair of sunglasses every few weeks. Definitely would never pay $150 for a pair. It would probably only take me a week to break them while taking the parking brake off my car.
